Not doing well
Re: Not doing well
Thanks for the reply, 2 nights ago my events hit 32 per hour, last night it went down to 26. I wonder why all of a sudden I went from as low as 3 events per hour to 12 at most to these new higher numbers when nothing else changed. Now I am not feeling as fresh as I was when I wake up though to be honest even with 3 events per hour I still don't seem to have that great feeling through out the day that some of you seem to have attained.

Re: Not doing well
Did you sleep or were you awake most of the night?
What was the AHI composed of? Each event category?

Also on the hose at the end that you attach to the mask, does that swivel end come off? I know I am supposed to get a new hose every 3 months but I don't see how this swivel piece comes off to put on the new hose. Or will the new hose come with it already attached?

Re: Not doing well
The swivel is a part of the mask. It can be removed from the end of the hose. There is no need to change the hose unless it fails, some how. They occasionally develop leaks, the heating element fails, or the end stretches out and will not stay connected to the mask.

Re: Not doing well
I added the machine and mask into my profile although my machine humidifier is not heated but that choice isn't there. Anyway my events last night was 30 per hour again. I just raised the pressure from 9 to 10 to see if that helps but this sucks.

Re: Not doing well
My wife and I both use the F20 mask. Sometimes, Texas swivel is hard to get out of the Jose. If you wiggle the swivel slightly while pulling on it, it should come out of the hose. On your machine, the humidifier is an integral part of the machine.

Re: Not doing well
I think you may have chosen the wrong machine in your equipment profile.
It's showing the AirSense 10 CPAP
but you are reporting AHI showing a breakdown into apnea event categories including centrals/CA and the "CPAP" model doesn't do event categories.
Look on the face of the machine lower right corner and see what it says
AirSense 10 CPAP
AirSense 10 Elite
AirSense 10 AutoSet
and then choose the appropriate model in the drop down menu choices from the profile page. Don't worry about the humidifier thing.
They all have the heated humidifier even if you don't choose to use it heated.
If your AHI is high...and it's primarily obstructive...going from 9 to 10 isn't going to help much.
So don't expect a huge change in the AHI.

Re: Not doing well
You were right, I changed my machine name...what do you suggest I set the pressure at? Before 3 days ago my event occurrences were between 3-16 at most. Now 3 days in a row in the 20's - 30's. I didn't change anything on my end, not sure why I am all of a sudden having that dry mouth feeling again and higher event numbers.Pugsy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 10:53 amI think you may have chosen the wrong machine in your equipment profile.

Re: Not doing well
I don't know because I don't know exactly what you are using in terms of settings and the mode of operation.
All you mentioned was changing from 9 to 10.
I need more information before being able to offer much at all.
So far this is all I know along with the change from 9 to 10. Is that a fixed pressure setting? Or a minimum pressure setting and using auto mode? And are you using EPR and if you are at what setting?
Are you using SleepyHead software?

Re: Not doing well
Sorry, I am not very good at this stuff yet. I don't use the sleepyhead software as it would seem there is no SD card in my machine. 9 is a fixed pressure, I start at 4 and then it goes to 9 after i fall asleep. I am using EPR at the full setting I believe. Anyway I changed the pressure to 10 and my events went down to 5 per hour last night. Not sure there is any correlation. I did start dieting yesterday as well so hopefully if I lose 15-20 pounds it will also help me.Pugsy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 5:45 pmI don't know because I don't know exactly what you are using in terms of settings and the mode of operation.

Re: Not doing well
I personally can't stand mine below 7 to start, and I tend to have less apnea's with my machine with no EPR on... Not sure why. And eventually after I got used to having pressure the EPR was kind of annoying. Personally I'd start a little higher... a lot of docs perscribe a wide range because they don't really understand it, unless you have a sleep specialist I'm guessing that's the case. They think hey it will go up to the right amount... in my opinion it should start a little higher because the deepest sleep you get is usually the first part of sleep.

Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"
