Full face mask

I am using a full face mask because the company I bought the machine from said since I breathe through my mouth I have to use a full face mask. I've been using it for two weeks now and I don't like it at all. It's the F&P Simplus. I know everyone says it's a good one, but it leaks so much. And I have the straps tight and then loose, and tight and then loose. Nothing works. And it keeps me up. When I had my sleep study I had the nasal one, the RESMED Mirgage FX and they let me keep it. But I'm wondering if I should switch to it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to get used to it if it's not going to do any good to use it. I do notice that I am breathing more through my nose.

There are lots of full face masks available. Masks selection is the toughest part of this therapy. I went through 9 masks before I found one I could sleep well with.
What works for one person doesn't for another. If you are not happy keep looking.

You don't say what machine or what pressure you are using .... if you change to the nasal mask (and there is no reason not to try it ) you may have to change the mask setting in the machine.
Most of us have tried many different mask before finding one that works.
I am also a mouth breather and I use a full face mask . the Amara View .. and I also use a mouth guard and a cervical collar to keep my mouth closed .

And try on FFMs while lying down - your face changes quite a lot then vs sitting (in the DME's office). Cpap.com has a good program where you can try masks for a few wks for a small fee and then return them.

A lot of us find that CPAP pressure allows us to breath through our nose as the pressure expands sinuses and enables easy breathing. You can try the nasal mask for a while, and your machine will track your leak rate. If you have excess leaks from mouth breathing, then the FFM may be your best option, but as you note, you won't know until you try. Keep the other mask handy and go for it. If the nasal mask works for you, then eventually nasal pillows are likely possible. If not, you have the FFM to fall back on.
