Does Thomas Gallagher Have Sleep Apnea?

He has a lot of fat under his jaw.

Let's not go and start rumors.....Now it will go around that anyone with a double chin has OSA.

If they have it liposuction-ed off will they be cured?

They can cure double chin with botox, but you still can run your train into things. Jim

He certainly might. I am sure you read that he drove straight into the station without slowing - signs of being asleep at the controls.

Two people apparently do not READ before they start a new thread.
Kudos to DH for adding this new info to an EXISTING thread.

Note that a similar crash in December 2013 in Bronx, NY - only fifteen miles from this one - was also caused by Sleep Apnea.

So this begs the questions. Should all train operators be screened? Who else should be screened? What kind of follow-up is needed? How is non-CPAP treatment monitored?
