question about the cost of bipaps and cpap machines

Post by springman946 » Sat Oct 01, 2016 5:15 pm

I was just wondering why are bipap machines more expensive then cpap machines is it because the bipap machine can do more then a cpap machine I looked at the price of the bipap machine that I am gong to be getting in 12 days and it is $4,500 dollars that my insurance will have to pay. that's crazy

they're more expensive because they're more expensive.

and it's unlikely your insurance will pay that.

That's the MSRP. Your insurance company has a negotiated price that is much lower.

They're more complicated as far as programming and I'm guessing that the blower system is different also. They seem to be able to switch pressures over a wider range much faster than CPAP or APAP machines.

nope. used to be different mechanically, back in the pre-history carved out of stone tablets era, not anymore.

All the Bi-PAPs on this site are < $2,000!

Do you think putting "Link====" will help you look less dumb than you are?

I checked dunder's link, and the site only has FOUR, (count them--4) bilevels.
At cpap.com's site, there are SEVEN, (all well under $2000) AND:
several older models are displayed, for "reference"--but we can use the page to identify OBSOLETE devices,
should some shady outfit have a dusty warehouse bursting at the seams.
Edit: Comparing prices, the two newest models have lower prices than the DH link,

if you had a brain, you'd understand that we were making fun of you because you put "Link====" in front of the link.

add to that the poor form of advertising a competitors substandard website...

but I don't expect you to be able to comprehend these advanced concepts.

Just pull both sites up and compare prices and selection.
