If one cannot figure out how to open said container, cleaning is still possible.
Bottle brush, paper towel/bent coat hanger, pea gravel, etc.
How do you suppose people reused bottles, jugs, or amphorae?
They WASHED them! A task as old as containers!

Correct. The top is mostly open, but there is about an inch, maybe less, all around the top so even turned upside down a corner or two will collect a few drops of water.
