Re: If CPAP won't work for you at all...
Do we need to start a forum for people who have had the inspire implant put in or are thinking about the procedure ? We don't have special/different forums for different discussions here. It's all one big forum. No sub forums at all. Remember .... this ...

... for months without success . I am 67 and have suffered with apnea for years . Doc felt it was time to try another means . Sleep doc suggested the Inspire device , which I understand has been approved and in use for a little over 10 years with much success I stumbled on this group when looking ...

Re: If CPAP won't work for you at all...
CPAP did not work for me as I felt I was being smothered. Tried for 4 months. No dice. Went to INSPIRE. Surgery went fine. No pain ect. INSPIRE was the next and final step. However... one thing they don't do is ask about the character and quality of the patient's insomnia. ...

Philips Dreamstation loud during inspiration
... and because the Dreamstation can capture data. I'm using an AirFit N20 nasal mask. I'm using a CPAP of 8 cmH2O. No ramps or fancy settings. When I inspire using the Dreamstation, the airflow in the tubing near the mask is very loud. It's enough to keep me awake. Expiration is not loud and is not ...

... effective if it's used! If somebody doesn't bother (or doesn't remember) to put it back on, it's not going to work. If this patient can get an Inspire implant, at least "forgetfulness" won't be a barrier to therapy. The downside is that you might be prolonging the life of an advanced dementia ...

C-pap and dementia
... kinds of over the counter and prescribed "sleeping pills" with little success. My question, finally, is there an answer to this dilemma or is the Inspire an alternate solution. The cpap people have no answer!!

Inspiration time all over the place
... breathing rate and depth are just too low (even without obstructions) during REM without the IPAP pressures inflating my baloons / lugns. I doubt Inspire would help me and don't even know if I could find anyone that would do it for me. It seems like if the tongue bulb is keeping my tongue forward ...

... with significant O2 drops all night long. If the week or two long trial on CPAP is a genuine disaster, then you might also want to investigate the Inspire device or an oral appliance. The Inspire comes with its own set of baggage, including invasive surgery needed to implant it. Oral appliances ...

Re: If CPAP won't work for you at all...
Sounds like you might want to check to see if you would qualify for the Inspire procedure.....be aware that not everyone qualifies for it and it comes with some rather ugly baggage as well. Now that catches my attention. I've been seeing a bunch of ads for ...

Any room for improvement with my CPAP therapy?
... and just generally feel more tired than I would like. My sleep doc says my AHI is within normal range, and his only suggestion was to look into Inspire. I'm open to that, but from a bit of research it appears that it would likely be worse if anything. I'm hoping that maybe the experts here could ...

... with the CPAP, so I feel like there's no going back at this point, I need to make this work. I am dieting and exercising, I have zero interest in Inspire, I'm pretty sure my mouth and throat structure won't work for any mouthguards or the like, I really have no other options. I either learn to ...

The surgeries that some docs claim are effective for treating for OSA are highly invasive and have a pretty high failure rate, meaning ...
