Re: FDA petition to grant OTC status to CPAP machines
When I was diagnosed with OSA and AFIB, I had never heard of either one. I can now look back and recognize my OSA symptoms going back at least a decade or two or three prior to my diagnosis by a doctor. I recognized OSA symptoms in my wife ...

... the machine and reset the ramp. That helps. Thanks Bwexler.... Too bad about not knowing about cardioversion. As soon as my Holter monitor showed Afib my friends told me about it. The lowest level shock did not work, but the second level did, and when I woke up, I immediately felt normal. A big ...

Re: Afib and OSA
Once in awhile, the pressure kicks up and wakes me up, but things usually settle down pretty quickly. Any suggestions? If you restart the machine, the ramp will start over. Otherwise, you haven't said what you would like help with. Please fill out your equipment profile - https://www.cpaptalk.com/u...

Re: Afib and OSA
I don't do things half way like you. I am 79 now. I was diagnosed with AFIB and OSA in August of 2010. Several bouts with a Holter monitor suggest I have constant, Mostly silent AFIB. Did not learn about cardioversion until it was way to late to try it. My ...

Afib and OSA
I was diagnosed with Afib around Jan 1, 2025. I also found I had sleep apnea (AHI of 46). I started with a ResMed 10 and a nasal pillow mask on Feb 1. My AHI only dropped to 25-30. I had a cardioversion on Feb 7, which eliminated the ...

... being on CPAP, and it was my doing: after one "maintenance" of my mask, I had almost completely blocked the exhaust and woke up with a sustained AFib (atrial fibrillation). Luckily, I knew what it was so I went straight to the hospital (after first dropping off the kids at school), and they had ...

Re: Afib worsens as OSA continues
Hi . I honestly think that one doesn’t know much about the other. The cardiologist says that the afib is worse because of untreated OSA, but that is the extent of her comment on it. She wants me to see an electrophysiologist next and I have appointment in August. I already ...

Re: Afib worsens as OSA continues
It'd be good to see a Sleep HQ chart, as CG has said. Also, I strongly recommend looping your cardiologist into the discussion of apnea and afib.

Re: Afib worsens as OSA continues
I am going to look for the O2 ring You might be wasting your money. First, your CPAP therapy needs to be optimized. That's the only priority at this time. Get the SleepHQ data posted in this thread. (Unless you love tinkering around with software, I would avoid OSCAR for the time being. SleepHQ is ...

Re: Afib worsens as OSA continues
Thank you both. It is a relief to find some help. I am going to look for the O2 ring and the programs you wrote about . I don’t even know if the DreamStaion II that Phillips sent as a replacement has an SD card. I have never looked for it
