Posted some Sleepyhead data from my S9
I found it was pretty easy until I got to the IMGUR part, I posted one day worth of data from my S9, a recent day. The low ahi is not reliable of how I feel, I feel awful because running the machine from 4-14 is minimalistic airway support.

Soooo...Why. are you running the unit at 4-14 ? You know how to change it.

then raise the minimum pressure, and quit your constant bitching.MrGrumpy wrote:. The low ahi is not reliable of how I feel, I feel awful because running the machine from 4-14 is minimalistic airway support.
also, that ahi isn't low.

Re: Posted some Sleepyhead data from my S9
Running it like that because when I raise it to my old pre-tonsillectomy pressure of 10,I get God awful left side abdominal pain, in the ribcage area. Cant tolerate those old high pressures anymore.
Lowest Ive tried recently was 9.4-11. ALMOST could tolerate that.
Under this sleepyhead software, do you try to set it to the "average" for your minimum? Or do like the sleep docs do and attempt to set it at the 90th or 95th percentile? I know I cant tolerate my current 95th or 90th percentile due to pain issues, but I might be able to tolerate something lower.
Lowest Ive tried recently was 9.4-11. ALMOST could tolerate that.

The 95th percentile means that 95% of the time you were AT OR BELOW that number. Set your minimum at about 2 under the 95th number.MrGrumpy wrote:Running it like that because when I raise it to my old pre-tonsillectomy pressure of 10,I get God awful left side abdominal pain, in the ribcage area. Re: Posted some Sleepyhead data from my S9
Yeah, I know that the 95th percentile means 95% of the time I am at or below (usually below) the number. The thing is, I set it to 9.4 a few weeks back and it still caused stomach pain and trouble sleeping. Not quite as bad as it had in the past, but bad enough for me to have to go back to 4-14.
Im thinking of bringing the bottom number up to 8.0 and keeping the top number to 12. That is not exactly perfect but I'm wondering if it will be enough to get me back to feeling good.
This is really frustrating for me btw, I used to be able to run that sucker at 10.6 minimum and leave the top at 20 and I slept like a log, minimal to no stomach pain. After the tonsillectomy, no could do anymore, really really frustrating to me. And doctors did not help either.

am I the only one that's having problems connecting "tonsillectomy" with "abdominal pain"?LSAT wrote:MrGrumpy wrote:when I raise it to my old pre-tonsillectomy pressure of 10,I get God awful left side abdominal pain, in the ribcage area.

Re: Posted some Sleepyhead data from my S9
You dumb fuck. I told you to not reply to my posts. You think you are so smart. If you would THINK, it would be easy to figure out. Enlarged tonsils are part of the obstruction of my airway. I tolerated a higher pressure just fine before having my tonsils removed. After the tonsils were gone, part of the obstruction was removed...maybe a lot of the obstruction I wonder sometimes. Afterwards, the old pressure I had been titrated on while my tonsils were enlarged (yes, I had a titration study with enlarged tonsils years ago....went years with tonsillitis) was not tolerated.
Its the same as if someone comes on here complaining of having bloating or stomach pains from too high pressures. I have not been able to find a proper pressure post tonsillectomy, my sleep specialist did not take the bull by the horns after that procedure and "adjust" my pressures. He just left me hanging, so to speak on a wide open AutoPap. He knew what he was doing, he just did not give a fuck. And thats part of the reason why I am coming across as so irritated. Because I am.

besides, I replied to LSAT's post, dumbass.
nope, still no logical connection, anybody with two functioning brain cells can easily determine that, obstruction or not, you were still ending up with the same pressure in your throat and lungs before and after the tonsillectomy.MrGrumpy wrote:You think you are so smart. I was going to suggest raising the minimum to 7 or 8 as it seems to go up to 7 fairly quickly. If you are comfortable with the 8, go with 8. That will help it prevent more events, and if the changes disturb your sleep, the smaller range will be better. You want the pressure to stay within 1 or 2 most of the night, and just have a few short spikes if you need more pressure for REM or back sleeping. It should not be constantly going up and down all night. That will trash your sleep quality.

Re: Posted some Sleepyhead data from my S9
Thank you for your recommendations, they are constructive and specific. I was actually eying that 8 number, on Rescan my last thirty day download has my median pressure as 7.3, whereas it has my 95th percentile as in the 11s.
I will try your suggestion of 8 or 7 (probably 8 at first) to see if that makes me feel better during sleep and the day, while not irritating my stomach area.
Again, thank you.

Re: Posted some Sleepyhead data from my S9
Eh...mine were huge and are now gone. I periodically look in my throat to see if anything has come back...nadda. Zippo. They are GONE. Not saying its impossible they will come back in the future, but at age 47, I kinda doubt it. Its been nearly three years now and nothing so far.
Tell you what though, if I had to do it all over again, I would not have had that tonsillectomy. It got rid of that respiratory tract cycling, but the complications it caused with CPAP afterwards was worse than the tonsillitis. If I had good follow up from my sleep doctor afterwards, I mean immediately afterwards, like in May or June 2013 afterwards, I'd have a different attitude and still would have had the tonsillectomy. But my after surgery sleep medicine followup was almost, I say, almost, nonexistent. And I completely deteriorated sleep apnea wise.
