Hi everybody i have just discovered this wonderful Forum about sleep apnea , so i would like introduce my self my name is Marcus i am 32 years old 198cm tall and weigh 128kg dunno what YANK (no disrespect) conversion is as i like the Metric system LOL . Diagnosed with severe OSA in 2013 but for many years prior I have been plaugued with issiues sleeping all due to untreated OSA , my symptoms of OSA started to appear when i was 19 years of age when friends and girlfriends witnessed my bad snoring/long pauses in breathing and it continued to get worse over the years and because i had the mentallity that i was 10 foot tall and bullet proof i refused to reconise i had a major problem and never seeked treament untill i was 30 years of age , OSA slowly consumed my life away mentally and physically , i became the most cranky person I would snap even to the point of becoming violent and smashing things and my temper got me into trouble with law , waking up hourly to urinate , waking in the morning with massive headaches ,sore throat, blurred vision , body aches , always getting heart burn , waking up at night with a vomit taste in my mouth , , fall asleep at my work desk , fall asleep while driving , always feeling fatigued and suffering from depression life was just a haze and i was cranky with the world and evrerybody in it , the final straw came when my partner of 7 years wouldnt sleep in the same bed as me as i was snoring that loudly and my constant wake ups gasping for air was disturbing her sleep and she threatend to leave me as i was just an angry and negetive person , no sex drive and being an arsehole of a partner and an arsehole to everyone else . so in 2013 i was booked in for a sleep study and got diagnosed with severe OSA my doctor was suprised i wasnt dead , issiued me an auto machine straight away , then came the long process of adjusting to sleeping with a mask every night or every time i went to sleep , took me 18 months to fully adjust and to actually feel a differnece in myself almost gave up hope as i was expecting a change staright away , its been a long journey to get decent sleep and the difference CPAP has made to my life and my relationship has been huge a change almost three years now since i started treament and WOW i am a new person and everybody that knows me has seen the difference that machine saved my relationship and saved my life . too all the other people just starting out on cpap dont give up on it , it is a life changer
