It amazes me on here

Post by MrGrumpy » Thu Feb 04, 2016 10:40 pm

I come on this forum, read people's sig lines. Usually it will read with their machine...usually some fancy ass Autopap or even a fancy autobilevel device. Then their humidifier, then their mask type.

Then it lists all this other shit:

sleepyhead software, goofball I watch daytime TV all day long so I eat cheetohs and watch oprah while I chat all day on CPAPTALK software because Im a 200 plus pound sack of shit, some type of oximetry gear that YOU DONT NEED unless you are on oxygen therapy (I used to have a top of the line recording oximeter, sold it...used it maybe ten times) and maybe a bunch of other shit you dont need. IT GIVES ME A HEADACHE TO READ SOME OF YOUR SIG LINES THEY ARE SO CONVOLUTED AND STILTED SOUNDING.

Im like, what you DO NEED is real simple.

You need a CPAP machine that will tell you your AHI.
You need a heated humidifer
You need a mask that works for you, the mask part of CPAP therapy is highly individualized
You need a titrated PRESSURE set in that CPAP you own
You need a hose cover so you dont get rainout in the middle of the night
You need a good equipment supplier/DME/online gear supplier...whomever as long as they are reliable and dont rip you and appreciate your business
You need a competent MD sleep specialist to oversee your therapy, and periodically make changes.

Thats ALL YOU NEED! You dont need all this other shit I see people have on here (that I also have or have owned in the past but sold it or have it stashed away somewhere in the closet because I never use it)

If you have high pressures, you might need a bipap, again, why mess with a autobipap? They cost more and just complicate stuff.

If you have real high pressures and have pre-existing stomach problems, or lung disease or something, maybe you WILL need an auto-titrating CPAP or bipap machine. But the odds are, most of us can do fine with a straight CPAP or a straight BiPap

A bunch of you are just a bunch of gear heads, nothing else. You enjoy tinkering around with stuff and have no lives offline. Computers, the Internet, TV, IRC, your smartphone and the apps that are on it...wifi CPAP if they have that.

When was the last time any of you ever had any pussy? When was the last time any of you ever worked out at the gym? When was the last time any of you ever could see your feet you are so Goddamned fat? When was the last time any of you took a road trip or stayed OFF your Goddamned computer for more than half a day???

Geeeez get a life! Work out, lose some weight, socialize offline not online, get a job, get laid, move out of your parent's basement and stop watching re-runs of Star Trek.

I mean, do you really NEED ALL THIS STUPID SHIT to treat apnea? No
Id be dead by now if I didn't use my CPAP gear every night.

He needs to get his lies complied 2007 on XPAP, 2013 on Xpap, every post different lies, needs meds changed, his rolly coaster, wheels are loose, or missing. He's either living with Enchanter or Enchanter put him out. Jim

Not getting any, probably never has, and if he did he wouldn't like it!

Now now guys. You have to be nice and be concerned and validate all his issues so he won't get upset and leave the forum. Don't anyone critique him now! None of this "tough love" Take him to your bosom! That is what you tell the rest of us.

If you're not interested in taking charge of your own treatment, why do you keep coming back to this forum? Is it to spread hate and discontent? Since you have obviously figured out what you need to adequately treat your sleep apnea, good for you. Personally, I prefer to stay here and try to learn a few things about treating mine.

You know it is all a matter of perspective...

I have never had a humidifier. I don't "need" one. So no hose cover. I buy mask cushions and non-Rx supplies online or off of ebay, I don't need a DME.

So as far as extra stupid stuff...

...it isn't stupid if that is what someone "needs" it to get the treatment that is best for him/her. At the end of the day we all want to be successful and that is all that matters.

I just can't help thinking about Rip Van Winkle's wife; and her fate.

Only a DME could elicit such rage.
