Two nights ago i set a record with 6 hrs 20 min on my machine. I taped across my mask straps, chin, and around forehead with athletic tape, twice over. I woke up a few times but knew that there was no way to easily get the mask off. Instead, I verified that there was air flowing from the exhalation port, and felt eased enough to drift back to sleep.
Unfortunately I tried the same set up last night but I escaped like a Houdini after 2 1/2 hours. It seems that I peeled off the intact loop of tape.
I can try a shower hat & criss-crossing tape to create a 'helmet' of sorts. I can also try taping on oven mitts. Pls share more ideas/tips if you have any
Still defeating my mask setup

It would be easier if the air in the mask felt the same as the room air. I suppose its picking up the silicon/plastic scent in the mask. I tried the so-called aromatherapy; but I can't stand it because the smell lingers in the home.
I might try an air purifier ; never know if it might help. Also has anyone tried a 'cool mist' humidifier near their XPAP machine rather than using the machine heated humidifier?

Please post your sleepyhead graphs so we can look at them, maybe something is happening that your pulling your mask off.. Other than that, make your mind up to keep the mask on, if you wake up and take it off, put it back on or when you wake up and notice it off, put it back on... make it a habit..

Re: Still defeating my mask setup
I am getting better at putting the mask back on. Though by the time I manage to, I lost 2 hours of therapy.

and that is ok, just keep putting it back on... the more you do your brain will stop taking it off as much and BAM all the sudden you will sleep through the night with it on...

Did you use an aromatherapy you liked, so that when it lingered in yours house you would be ok with that? You can use any scent that you like and put it on a cotton ball behind your filter, ie your favorite perfume/cologne...anything that would take away the smell of the mask/hose that you are finding offensive.davep700 wrote:It would be easier if the air in the mask felt the same as the room air. Well, I think if there's an award for trying hard, you should get it. Good for you for fighting to take care of yourself and dag-gone it, that subconscious is a real sneaky cuss!!!davep700 wrote:Two nights ago i set a record with 6 hrs 20 min on my machine.
