Re: How to build your own manometer at home
All these Rube Goldberg thingies look good and will probably work fine. I posted my VERy SIMPLE remedy and nobody even mentions trying it. The exact same principle is involved as these other ones, just direct. Simply hold or tape or rubber band a ruler to the bottom of the hose. Bottom of ruler to b...

Re: Help selecting a manometer
Being frugal, i came up with a very simple way to measure pressure. Attach or hold a ruler to bottom of hose. Immerse it into a container of water- turn on machine- about 6 inches and very slowly raise until air starts escaping. Look at ruler and you have your pressure. works for moi lots cheaper th...

pressure manometer
No need to double the number. This is a direct measurement of the pressure that is preventing the air from escaping. When the air begins to escape, this measurement of the column of air is correct anad is the pressure your nmachine is set to.. I have no idea why you think the number should be double...

Manometer
I am a bit on the lazy side and prefer simplicity. All the fancy U tubes and commercial models are fine, But mine is very simple. I simply disconnect the hose from the mask and dip it into a container of water about 6-8 inches deep and hold a ruler to the bottom of the hose. A metric one is even bet...

manometer
Why not just get a ruler and hold it to the bottm of the hose- preferably a metric ruler- then dip it into a container of water at least 6-8 inches deep- turn on the machine and gradually raise it until air starts bubbling out. look at the mark on the ruler and get your reading. remember 2.54 cm= 1 ...

manometer
Nice trick. rube goldberg. Being lazier than you, I simply hold the bottom of the hose to a ruler and dip it into a pan of water- about 6 inches and turn the machine on. I then simply raise it slowly until the bubbles start escaping and look at the ruler. This is the cm/inches of water. Works for mo...

manometer
Being the laziest of the group, I also made one long ago after reading all the fancy engineering and scratching my head and thinking about my physics. Take a ruler( preferably metric) and hold to bottom of hose- after you remove the mask. dip into a pot at least 6 inches deep. turn on switch and slo...

homemade manometer
I also came up with a simpler way to measure the pressure that requires no extra items except a ruler- preferably a metric one. I simply hold the end of the hose to the end of the ruler and lower it into a pan of water about 5 inches deep and turn on the pap. then gradually raise it till water bubbl...
