Hi, would there be a community newspaper or place where you could put an ad asking for help from either someone who has a spare machine to lend you (or rent) for a while, or else someone who actually knows how to fix those machines? Have you considered trying to get a machine from the U.S. (or possibly UK) somehow - if you can afford it?

I am having a similar problem. I heard the airsense was suppose to be the Ferrari of all cpap machines. It does have a better algorithm but I feel thats where everything god about it ends. There is so much non customizable options. And my humidifier dosnt work as well as my old PRs1. It sounds like you are experiencing a cooling off situation with your airsense. I noticed my machine would show cooling off after about an hour on. Maybe even less. I think it tries to create a neutral temperature but that doesnt make sense if you have a heated hose and want something warmer.

I honestly think this is not a defect issue but rather a RESMED design.

I noticed that when I use my humidifier my numbers are much higher. Without the humidifier my numbers are always below 2 usually around 1. With the humidifier on my numbers are upper 3s to upper 4s.
I haven't used my humidifier for quite sometime due to this.
Anyone else notice this?

If you have an ohm meter, I can measure the resistance across the leads in my heated hose and give you the values tonight. Maybe that will help.

I have a new Airsense and the other night I actually had water in my hose. Humidity is set at 4. I've knocked it down to 3. I tried auto but on cold nights, it heats up too much. I may take it back and go back to my old S9. Please see my other thread comparing the S9 to the AirSense.

You can set the temperature to manual, and the humidity to auto (S9 was the same I believe). If it is too hot, just turn the temperature down and the humidity will automatically be adjusted.

I just did the electrical check in case you want to do some diagnostics yourself. With the connector pointed down, and you facing the gold contacts, the following is the pinout:

Left Pin: Temperature Sensor
Middle Pin: Common (ground)
Right Pin: Heater Connection

Left to Middle is about 12 kOhm at about 70 degrees F. I don't know the exact transducer model, but looking up standard transducers, this will be about 20 kOhm at 50 degrees F,8 kOhm at 86 degrees F, 10 Kohm at 77 degrees F and 5 kOhm at 100 degrees F. If the values match approximately here, then the the temperature sensor and wires are good.

Right to Middle is 10 Ohm. This will also vary with temperature a little, but it is unlikely to vary much.

An open circuit on either the Left to middle or right to middle means that the connector is broken. If the problem is intermittent, you can try flexing the connector a little while taking the measurements to see if the something opens up.

Another thing to look at is, if this happens when you get up to go to the bathroom, the machine automatically runs a cool-down cycle and takes a while to warm back up. Putting the machine in warmup mode after you shut it off will eliminate this.
