airfit p10 exhaust vent leaking air?
airfit p10 exhaust vent leaking air?
New to cpap DME gave me the airlift p10. After a few hours it feels like I have water leaking down my nostril or water going into my nostril. I check and there is no water. I found that it is basically I feel air coming out the vent at all times. It seemed that during my sleep study they used the nuance and no air came out the exhaust port unless I was exhaling. But with the p10 there is always air coming out the vent. Does this mean I am not getting my full pressure. It also seems like I am getting the cool air which gives me the sensation of water. Does anyone else always feel air coming out the vent at all times on inhale and exhale?

If your bedroom is quite cool, you could be experiencing rain out.
A hose cover or a heated hose are two solutions.
Cpap.com sells a mask liner for nasal pillows that might help.

I have the same mask, and air comes out the mesh at all times;
but it is diffused, so hard to feel.

Re: airfit p10 exhaust vent leaking air?
I use the P10 nasal pillow mask myself. It's normal to have the venting at both inhale and exhale.
I have also used the Nuance and it also vents during both inhale and exhale. All masks vent during inhale and exhale...some are just noticed more than others. It's need to expel the carbon dioxide that we exhale or otherwise you would keep re-breathing that expelled carbon dioxide and that's not a good thing to do.
Moisture in the nasal pillows...can be just a tiny drop or enough you get a cold spray out the vent holes.
Condensation in the nasal pillows can happen for various reasons but mainly if you are seeing it only in the nasal pillows and only a tiny amount then it probably is from the moisture in the exhaled breath cooling and letting condensation happen.
It's annoying but won't hurt you. If it disturbs your sleep a lot then you want to prevent it and there are several options available for preventing the condensation from happening.
See this thread posts number 2 and 3 for various options available.

Re: airfit p10 exhaust vent leaking air?
I use a heated hose and a hose cover that I have set about 6 inches from the mask back to the machine. Never had a drop touch my face. Like pugsy said there is supposed to be a leak from the front of the pillows for CO2.
Re: airfit p10 exhaust vent leaking air?
Thanks for the info I have a heated hose already and turned down the humidification it is only a drop or two not really too much. It just seems on my left nostril feels like there is water in it enough to wake me up. But when I get up and look all I see is a drop between the two layer of the part that goes into the nose. I just got a swift Lt mask from a friend who had an extra one laying around. Still Res Med but different exhaust port, I will see if that helps at all.. Thanks for the help. I wasn't sure if they all had air exhausting all the time or not..I will read through the newbie post though looks like a lot of good information thanks Pugsy
