Re: AHI 0.0 8 nights in a row.. is this a malfunction?

Did you happen to unplug your machine from the electric source and then plug it back in sometime during the past 8 nights? If you didn't....give that a try and then see what tonight's data looks like. In the past when machines seemed to get "stuck" on something a forced reboot of the machine softwar...

Re: New to CPAP - Quick Question regarding leak

I was under the assumption the machine would notice the event and then try to instantly get me out of it, but I guess the machine is suppose to do it's best at "preventing" events as much as possible. Even if it could immediately respond (which it can't) when people use fixed cpap mode....it can't ...

Re: New to CPAP - Quick Question regarding leak

How does one still experience events with my fixed pressure and 0 leak? 1....you are expecting 0 events? That's an unrealistic expectation. 2....you are using fixed pressures but we don't sleep the same each night and maybe you just needed more pressure for some reason on other (sleeping position m...

Jason (TheLankyLefty) doesn't walk on water like some people seem to think. He has his opinions and well within his rights but while I love him to death.......I don't always agree with him. I get to have my opinion as well. You need to learn how to tell awake from asleep flagged events. It takes som...

Re: Unclassified Apneas

I'm curious, Pugsy, how can you tell he's not asleep? By the shape of the breaths in the flow rate graph. Asleep breathing is very smooth, rhythmic and doesn't vary. Awake/arousal breathing is very irregular when compared to asleep breathing. Easy to spot most of the time. We don't take big gulps o...

Re: standard or soft response

I will usually say that we need several nights before we can really evaluate any experiments EXCEPT when we have disastrous results. Our sleep is so fragile I just don't see the sense in experimenting when first results are a disaster. Go back to the soft response tonight and see if your sleep quali...

Also, are other people having trouble with lag on the forum or is it just me? Not just you https://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t188210/Anyone-else-experiencing-connection-problems-here-on-the-forum.html Anytime you change anything with the cpap there is the potential for sleep disruptions. The brain...

PM sent back, but it's sitting in my outbox, not showing as sent yet. Any private messages sent to anyone will sit in the outbox until the person the PM was sent to opens it and reads it...then it will move to the sent box. So the person you sent the PM to simply hasn't been back here to check his ...

Re: Unclassified Apneas

Believe what you want but you weren't sound asleep and that little dip to 88% for the O2 is probably just a brief loss of contact artifact. Asleep breathing is different from awake breathing (and you may not remember being awake) and awake/arousal related breathing is fairly easy to spot on the flow...

Re: Insurance Fraud? Airsense 10 and ROTECH.

Could you possibly give the OP an example of how he is saving money? I gave an example of how I could/did save money. Did you not understand the math? OP is a big boy and needs to do his own math. I have yet to have my insurance buy me a machine. 15 years on cpap. I do the math. Have a nice day.

And you call this an Advantage? I think I would NOT sign with another Advantage Plan. How is this saving money? When you have perpetual rental - such a deal. Live n' Learn or NOT or just get another *Advantage*. 1....Not all Advantage plans do this (though I admit more and more are going to perpetu...

Re: Unclassified Apneas

You were in the middle of a large leak for one thing.
You weren't asleep for another thing.
It really doesn't matter what they are if you aren't asleep because you have to be asleep for anything flagged to really matter.

Re: Mysathenia Gravis and Bipap Machine

I do not know if they would help or hurt in your situation but you might talk to an ENT doc about your problem and what you think it is and would something like "lacrimal plugs" be indicated as a possible solution for your problem.

Re: New F & P Nasal cushion mask called the Solo

Quick report as I am short on time. Funeral to go to this morning. Anyhow....found a negative (for me anyway) and that was a strap mark on my face this morning. Probably the side that was "down" on the bed pillow (buckwheat so a bit firm) as I am primarily a side sleeper and I rotate sides often. Al...
