Re: 5CQWCPB
Well I read it just to see what the subject was all about I doubt that the price of the machine will effect the noise level. Ear plugs? Running a fan in the background? Wearing it during the day (TV?) to get used to the noise. For me the problem was that the sound coincided with my breathing, which ...

Re: airblasts
Are you checking your data? There should be a flow limit right before that blast of air. It should not be a 4->15 jump in a single step. For me it took a while to change from "what the heck is going wrong" to "relax it's working just fine" The machine is supposed to be doing that, you just don't "kn...

Re: USING CPAP WITH NO HUMIDIFIER NOW
DeeCPAP what you say sound logical, but alas it is not. I doubt that anything I say will change your way of thinking, but perhaps someone new to CPAP will read it and not follow what you are suggesting. The gear has always been problematic AND I didn't feel too much difference in the way I felt afte...

Re: Sleeping A LOT
You're probably not getting treated properly - 10+ hrs is way too long to sleep and be healthy, just as bad for you (if not worse) than too few hours. Ten hours is what a lot of us were getting pre-Cpap and doctors say 7-8 are ideal. Your low pressure setting may not be high enough - and/or your me...

Re: slee ping with peripheral neuropathy
Not sure why prescribed one month to try would be required or typical. I was diagnosed with diabetic(II) nerve pain and prescribed gabapentin right then, ramped to 900mg a day in a week. Got my glucose under control, recovered my nerves and stopped the gabapentin. That was 3 years ago. It did howeve...

Re: Sleeping A LOT
Heh ya I hear you about searching and posting to an old thread, can't make everyone happy. I got you beat, 2+ hours a night would have been great. I was waking every 30-60 minutes all night, every night. Life was nearing terminally not good. Now I sleep 10-12 every single day, some time I may get wo...

Yep I see the same things. Pretty sure it's a bug that has not been fixed yet. The programmer has had some health issues that he just got over. He is just getting back to sleepyhead.

Actually, everyone has a point or two at least. Could it have been said nicer, well sure. Do I understand Paleriders point, well sure, he has a darn good point. I know we are all experts in physics, math, and engineering and we can figure out what everyone did wrong in their designs and in addition ...

If you run them at full power and have a decent fan for the hot side, you can ice over the cold side on a humid daydavep700 wrote:I was thinking about the peltier as well... it's cooling effect is modest, but it might help.

Re: Might Buy an Aircurve off Craigslist
If your pressure requirements are below 10, and you don't have a mixed apnea, there is no way you need a bipap machine . In fact, you really don't need an APAP either. Try a straight CPAP setting of 8 with an EPR of 3, and see if that helps you to get over your air starvation issues. These, by the ...

Yep, indeed and it also depends if you need to push the full 60 watts into it. My guess is it could be run pretty low just to cool a little airflow

Don't need Freon. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=thermoelectric+cooler these little (thin) things can heat or cool. They are low cost and do everything needed, easy to use also. I have been thinking of hooking one up as a pre-cooler by the intake for my CPAP http://www.mpja.com/Peltier-Cooling-...

Re: I need fresh air
ah sorry all, but the water tank was 100% empty and DRY when I made my measurements and of course I was not testing it by putting my had in the air stream. I was using a J-type thermocouple and a HH506A http://www.omega.com/pptst/HH506A_HH506RA.html not nist calibrated, but close enough for what we ...

Re: Newbie can't get control of mask leakage
I have a goatee which I keep trimmed at about 1/8" length also I am a side sleeper and do tend to toss and turn frequently. I use a Amara View, but have also used a SimPlus with good results. Not saying you are, but just in case-a strap adjustment is no more than 1/8" to dial it in. To find where th...
