Help! Tab/Hose Stuck

Post by queenberniqua » Wed Nov 25, 2015 7:47 pm

Hi,

I'm new here but I'm trying to install my mom's new equipment (hose, on her Respironics REMstar Auto A-Flex) and the hose is stuck. When I pinch the tab, the whole side cover starts to come off and the hose won't move. What am I doing wrong? I can't get the hose off and I need to get the new one on ASAP. Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

What's the hurry? Is this one leaking or something?
I have no idea what you're trying to do. Is it a heated hose or "standard" one?

Do you have a manual for the machine?

Is it a System One? Model 550 or 560?

Here are a couple of links to download the user manuals.

Thanks! I need to attach the new hose (and nasal pillows) we just got in the mail. The old one is dirty and hasn't been used in a year.
But I can't get the old one off...I know it's probably easy but I can't find anything in the manual. It just says "disconnect" or "connect". I need specific help, like "Push the tab down while turning the hose" or "Push tab IN" or "twist hose" or...because it seems to be STUCK.

I know these are dumb newbie questions but tomorrow's Thanksgiving and I can't call the company and Mom's appointment is Friday.

Thanks!

Why don't you answer his questions then... we can't help without some info.

We need to know what make/model of hose, mask and machine.
Different ones attach differently.
Read the invoice/packing slip, and tell us what it says.
Read the labels on the machine, top, front back, bottom--but not with water inside it.
Write down what you see, and tell us.

So........let me guess........Mom hasn't been compliant for at least a year and now it's panic mode time.
How are you going to prove compliance if that's going to be an issue? There would be a BIG gap on the card for the downloaded data.

But, for the heated hose, the instructions should be on Page 6 of the second link.

Sorry for the misinformation from many old timers here.
If they made it very easy for new comers to post here, you would not need to give us these details at all.
It should be automatically visible for you to fill in these details when you gave your internet details.

See the Stickie here on how to add these important CPAP details, so that when you post here again, you will not need to write the machinery details, etc.

The problem you outline here is extremely common. Causes and treatments are boringly simple and clear. If you have common hardware, you might try Google searches. Myself or other YouTube publishers MIGHT sometimes have something of relevance for you on our YouTube channels. Google will show you these things, if they exist.

Generally Google is everyone's best friend. Sometimes it might help us if you tell us how Google did not help.
Again, see the SELF-HELP stickie that should be available to all CPAP interests who find this forum.

Does the connector you're having trouble with look like this, including the black part?
