Snoring is a symptom of sleep apnea. You can eliminate snoring without affecting the SA. There is no mention of SA in the NORA information.

I snore in any and every position -- including sitting straight up in a car. This thing would wear itself out in the first hour of trying to make me a quiet sleeper.When it detects the nasal tones of a snore, a signal is sent to a padded strip that's been inserted under your pillow. This strip inflates slightly on one side (no motors or hinges), tilting the snorer's head without waking him or her up — which theoretically should open up the person's airways enough to stop the snoring.

It is more of a thrill if I'm driving, nobody wants to ride in my car anymore though.flightco wrote:sleepylynn wrote:I snore in any and every position -- including sitting straight up in a car. I want to die in my sleep like my Grandfather. Not like the others in the car who were screaming.

Re: NEW !!! : "NORA" Is this gadget an alternative?
I remember having to drive 120 miles each way to a 3 day professional conference--ALONE.
I was not on cpap yet and I was terrified!
White knuckles all the way, but something kept me awake. {{{fear?}}}

Re: NEW !!! : "NORA" Is this gadget an alternative?
Actually, I have not had issues with getting sleepy while driving since I started using CPAP more than 9 yards ago now. Non issue.sleepylynn wrote:Huh. Maybe that's why I never have to take a turn driving on road trips anymore...
Just did a 15 hour road trip a couple weeks ago and was fine.
As for this device its hogwash. Snorting is a symptom of OSA and this device doesn't talk about dealing with sleep apnea. Even sitting straight up in a recliner doesn't have much effect on my sleep apnea, I might not snore, but I still have obstructed sleep without my machine.

Re: "NORA" NEW !!! : Is this gadget an alternative?...
I found this in their FAQ at the bottom of the page.
Is Nora suggested for those with sleep apnea?
Nora is a non-medical device that reduces snoring. Those with apnea can use Nora to reduce their snoring but should not think of it as a replacement for treatments prescribed by their physician.

I may have OSA, but I do not snort, much too refined for thatKrelvin wrote:Actually, I have not had issues with getting sleepy while driving since I started using CPAP more than 9 yards ago now.
