Humidifier cleaning

Post by Corky1121 » Tue Oct 13, 2015 10:06 am

Hello

I clean the water receptacle every day. How do I clean the humidifier inside the unit?

There is nothing that needs cleaning inside the unit...even cleaning the receptacle daily is a waste of time if you use distilled water

WHY? What's in there (or could get in there) that's "dirty"?
Do you have filters installed on the air intake port of your machine? They'll keep dust and particulates out.
Besides, even if there was anything in the water chamber, nothing can get to you anyway. The water vapor molecules are too small to carry anything out to you.

And, to repeat, there's nothing inside the machine that can or needs to be cleaned.

Ok ty. My supplier send reminder to clean humidifier monthly. I was curious how. I use distilled water and change filter every three weeks.

If you feel compelled to clean inside the humidifier chamber (IMO, every four months), try unscented wet wipes from Costco or any of the big box stores, they work great for getting into the corners and around the lip of the silicone seals... don't forget to wipe the inside of the lid and its seal. The good thing about the wet wipes is you can't dribble moisture where it doesn't belong.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
