Hello everyone, I use a cpap with full face mask at night, every night & have very low numbers when I wake up (between 1-4 most nights!). Sleep at least 6 hours, sometimes up to 10 hours. But I am still very very tired all day, yawning my head off.
My dr prescribed me Nuvigil, 150mg tabs, to take once a day in the morning. Well I love them, they make me more alert & no more yawning.
BUT my new insurance does not cover them.... would be $400+ a month for them. Just cannot afford that.
So that being said, anyone tried alertec or other generics to nuvigil or provigil by chance? Were they very similar in how they helped you?
Side note that provigil is still very expensive too, so can't get that.
Thanks in advance!
Alternative to Nuvigil anyone?

I don't have any answers for you, but try going up to the Search function and putting in those drug names. I know Nuvigil and Provigil have been discussed at great length over the years.NJsharon wrote:Hello everyone, I use a cpap with full face mask at night, every night & have very low numbers when I wake up (between 1-4 most nights!). Do you monitor your therapy with software? If you're having "issues" with that much sleepiness, maybe the answers are in your nightly data/reports.

NJsharon, Cephalon, the makers of Nuvigil and Provigil, have patient-assistance programs for both drugs. Give them a call, and tell them your situation. It can't hurt.
