DreamWear mask is now pre order at cpap.com

Post by Pugsy » Tue Oct 06, 2015 12:20 pm

For those who may be wanting to check out or test the new Respironics DreamWear nasal mask
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-dre ... -pack.html
it just now came online as available for pre order.
Looks like they anticipate getting it fairly quickly for shipment as I asked and they said the 13th.

You need to call or chat online when ordering because the MSRP is $109.00 but it says to call for pricing and if you don't it goes through at $109 (which can be fixed after the fact but it is just easier to call or chat online to place the order).
Real selling price is $89.00
It does come with free return insurance so if you hate it you can send it back and get a refund and they will even send a pre paid shipping label to print off if you want to send it back.

I have been wanting to try this mask so I ordered it. Review to follow once I get to try it.

So it's $89 but call to place the order to avoid hassle of refunding the $20 difference.

Side note.
Apparently the packaged order comes with a medium frame but it appears that eventually we will have a choice between small, mediuam and large frames at least according to the replacement parts page
https://www.cpap.com/productpage-replac ... -pack.html

I don't have any sizing information as to how the frames may differ in size.
I will have a better idea how the medium frame does once I get my hands on it.

I am not a large headed person though but I don't have a tiny head either....so will just have to wait and see what the frame does and maybe chat with someone somewhere to get an idea as to how the frame sizes differ.

Wow, this looks really interesting! I am tempted to order it myself. Just earlier today, I was thinking about trying a different mask, perhaps re-trying one of the ones I have in my box at home. I may wait to read your review, Pugsy. And if I just go ahead and order it, I will post my review too.

Does look interesting, and return insurance is free. I think I'll wait for some reviews, though, I haven't tried a nasal mask that has worked for me yet.

Pugsy, the photos remind me of the Chinese terra-cotta warriors, e.g.,

This new DreamWear mask looks interesting to me BUT I could not find any info about it on the Philips Respironics website. Wondering why not?

I have to purchase my masks through local provider b/c of my Medicare plan vs purchasing online.

They don't do a very good job with promotion of new products. Last I looked a couple of days ago they still didn't have any information about their new machines either. Eventually it will show up on their website.

Check with your local supplier as to the status of whether they have this new mask or not or could get if for you. It's been out for a while...initially as a test demo and more recently others are reporting that they have received this mask from their local DME. So it has been out there and available in some areas.

thank you for the heads up, Pugsy. I just preordered it this morning and then read your notice. went back to cpap site, clicked on talk help and ask them to refund my 20 and they did immediately.

Been away for a while with major house problems (rot and mold). This mask looks very promising. Time to come back to the sleep nest.<g>

Just ordered one, the actual price is $89 but you have to get to adjust it from $109. It has replacement insurance at no cost and they expect to get them Oct 14.

Interesting mask! I'm interested to hear how it is for side sleepers. The frame on the Wisp mask is really bugging me lately because of the pressure against my head when I lie on my side.

The fitting guide is only for the cradle cushion sizing.
I haven't found anything that gives us a hint as to what frame size might be optimal.
The mask package comes with the medium frame and all sizes of cushions...but apparently there is going to be also a small and large frame available.
I mention it just in case someone tries this mask in the medium frame and has issues with the frame size.

I will let you know when I get it and try it. I am primarily a side sleeper.
I have yet to have any real good luck with any Respironics mask except the Nuance and even with it I didn't particularly like the headgear. In general I just haven't done well with any Respironics headgear.

The "Fit Pack" comes with a medium frame and all size cushions. Alternately, you can purchase either a small, medium or large frame that would come with one cushion of your choice (listed at the same price as the fit pack).

I was impatient and ordered one locally a day before I saw cpap.com was getting it (I had chatted with them online about it last week and they told me they didn't have any plans for when they might carry it). It came today so I'll see how it goes. I could probably use the small frame but with the cushions I think the medium might work fine. The frames are also listed on cpap.com for only $30 so a second size frame isn't a bad idea.

Everyone remember when it comes to Respironics products...when it says call for pricing then you should call for pricing because that means that the price can be discounted a bit but you have to call to get the discounted price.
Even on the frame, headgear or replacement cradles or whatever. Every little bit of savings will help.

Respironics forces the MSRP for posting but they don't care if final price is discounted a bit as long as the advertised price is what they say to advertise.
ResMed...can't be discounted though. They get all upset if anyone discounts any of their products.

Thanks so much Pugsy! I thought that was just for the full mask.

Unfortunately, I am going to wait until tomorrow to try the new mask - I was all ready to go with it but had another nosebleed tonight so I'm just going to go with another mask for tonight instead of trying something new. I'll update on my experience when I can.
