Power up probem

Hello everyone. I have been absent for quite a long time, but I have a sudden problem maybe someone can help me with. I have been using a Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset for the better part of a year with no problems. Suddenly, it won't power up. I have every reason to think that the power brick is working correctly. This model has a blue LED at the end that goes into the machine, and it is lighting up just fine. When I insert the tip into the socket, the green LED in the AirSense's on-off switch blinks briefly, so some amount of power must be making its way to a circuit in the CPAP, at least for an instant. No matter how carefully and slowly I insert the tip, however, the light comes on only briefly and will not stay on. I suspect one of two things. There could be a problem with the connectors, and they just won't mate effectively. Or maybe there is a software problem in the machine, and when I apply power it isn't booting up correctly, but instead returning to some kind of helpless state. Is there a hard reset of some kind I can use, like one would try on a balky router? I'm leaving on a foreign vacation Tuesday morning (our honeymoon!), so I would love a quick fix. The DME is closed today, and frankly, my expectations for fast help there are low. Fortunately, I was able to bring my old S9 back into service last night, but it has a finicky switch and can only be turned on and off by unplugging it. Also, I've grown used to the low noise and variable pressure of the AirSense.

Can you borrow another brick to isolate the problem (maybe from your DME!-) and is the machine still in warranty or just out of it (still worth a warranty claim)...

See if the DME will at least give you a loaner for the trip (explain the circs to them).

The brick lights up and has no visual damage to the power tip. That isn't definitive, but it causes me to focus elsewhere. The DME is closed for the weekend, and I don't have anyone else to borrow from. I could go Monday, but I have so many things to take care of that day before I leave that I want to avoid it if possible -- especially since I expect that they will make me sit around a long time and then just advise me to leave the unit. The machine is in warranty, however, and I suppose it is possible they would replace it on the spot. I'm still hoping that maybe there is a hardware reset to try first that might make a trip to the DME unnecessary.

There is a sticker on the machine with the name of the DME and an "Emergency Number". If you call the number, you get a message telling you to phone 911 or leave a message to be returned on the next business day. That's the kind of thing that gives me doubts about the DME's helpfulness. Still, if I can't get it working, begging for a replacement Monday might work.

Problem solved! Well, not solved, but at least diagnosed. Thank you everyone for the suggestions. Not to cast blame on anyone, since I have a honeymoon to go on, but the power bricks for my computer and CPAP got switched, and by unfortunate coincidence, the wrong power supply fit perfectly. I should have noticed sooner that it says DELL. I fear I may have done some real damage, but hopefully the AirSense has sense enough to recognize nonconforming power and trigger some protective cut-off. I won't know for a while, since the right power brick is at a hotel lost-and-found in Tacoma at this moment. This could present an interesting warranty question if the unit is fried.

Watch out for reverse polarity on the power tip! Teamed made in Austrailia uses reverse polarity and does not make American models! Causes damage! I lost a machine because of this. They tell you use only authentic parts, but they fail to have an obviously needed warning that polarity is wrong for America.

I believe the technical term here is "hogwash".
