Jedimark's back.. Callout for AirCurve & DreamStation data

Post by jedimark » Fri Sep 25, 2015 10:32 am

Hi Guys & Gals,

Just checking in, I know it's been a while.

I'm still alive and breathing. I know I've missed a lot of your emails and PM's the past few months... I'm sorry! I'm slowly getting back around to the land of the functional. :/

As usual, I've been a bit of a selfish b... and focusing on my health again, instead of accomplishing all the epic things that I'd like to be able to do. Things have been improving a little bit in that regard lately, which I am very pleased with.

I'm 25Kg lighter since February (MyFitnessPal!), and walking again.. I still have some problems every now and then, but I keep pushing through it. The fog/fatigue hasn't shifted much, so I'm still a doughy mess, but I guess I can't have everything.

Anyway, as for SleepyHead, I was battling some graphics subsystem problems (not to mention waiting on upstream updates) that came from the Qt library changing things underneath on me, I'm pleased to have gotten to the bottom of them. I'm currently working cleaning up a lot of bugs I've missed, and adding AirCurve support. So far I have the VPAP models working, but I still need to get my hands on some AirCurve ASV data.

I finally have some DreamStation sample data, so far I've got a fairly good idea of the flow waveform format, the rest shouldn't be too difficult to eventually get to the bottom of... But again, I'm going to need a more data to do this.

The next SleepyHead update will have an installer, I promise.. I know that ones been bugging the heck out of a lot of you, and I intend on doing something about it.

Anyway, it's 2:21am, and I'm masked up with a laptop in bed.. ready to catch some Zzzz's.

I'll try my best to keep you posted as far as progress towards the next update here.

Sleep well!

/Mark

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I second that notion. I'm a new user of SleepyHead & it's fantastic. Thank you so much for all of your hard work.

Any word on the linked issue below, by chance?

Go figure - I can walk while chewing gum but apparently I can't quite grasp breathing while sleeping.

Hi Mark,

Glad to know that you're doing better, and we all owe you a HUGE thank you for your commitment to the SleepyHead project.

I'll be glad to send you my AirCurve 10 ASV data. As an early adopter, I've got about 8 months worth. I'll PM you too...
“Ignorance” is not pejorative; it is simply a lack of information. “Stupidity” is an inability to utilize available information.

Hey Mark,

I cannot help you with the data you are requesting but I did want to say a HUGE Welcome Back.

I have missed you.
I am so grateful for your improved health. I hope it continues to improve and you can enjoy the summer coming on.

Take care of yourself, we care about you so much more than just the software you provide. Hugs.

I have about a week's worth of data ... from my dreamstation with dreamwear mask ... I average about 8 hours a night on it. I can send that if you tell me where to send the data to.

If you are interested in bug reporting, I am constantly having to rebuild my database due to sessions from nights somehow creeping into previous nights causing overlapping sessions. Would be willing to Teamviewer you in to take a look some time if you wanted to have a peek,

Excellent user friendly software, by the way. I think you really hit the nail on the head with your UI design.

A shower of hugs and kisses on one of my favorite people! As a data junkie, you are kinda my junkie dealer...

No help with data (I've got a plain black A10), but I just wanted to offer a shout out from another MyFitnessPal user. I've lost 82.6lbs since the beginning of the year. I have a theory about MyFitnessPal -- when I first used it I said, "hey, this is like Sleepyhead but for weight loss and fitness!" I think that there is a group of people -- data junkies -- for whom success has a lot to do with the constant feedback of the data coming out. Because the medical profession in general is so stingy with data, it's fabulous that we can get it from another source.

Oh, and curious -- is your AHI higher or lower or the same with the weight loss? Mine is still really good with treatment, but I can see from the Sleepyhead summary screen that it is definitely worse as the weight has come off. So much for blaming apnea on being fat...
