How often does CPAP.com have sales on?

Post by ramblingasian » Fri Sep 04, 2015 3:16 pm

Having only researched XPAP for the past few weeks, I just noticed that for the first time, CPAP.com has a sale going on. Are there regular sales, or is it an once or twice a year thing? I'm trying to judge how often to order supplies seeing that I'm in Canada and shipping isn't free.

Thanks!

For the big stuff like CPAP machine etc there aren't that many killer deals on new stuff, mostly because it's controlled by the Big Two, PR and ResMed. Masks can be found cheap on Ebay but the quality and honesty of the sellers varies quite a bit. CPAP.com is great for accessories, parts and stuff like that and their sale prices match most of the other online outlets.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

When ordering "heavy equipment", always get on the line with them.
They can inform you about bundle deals that can save you a lot.

@ramblingasian Are the prices a lot better than we can get from DME's and elsewhere from within Canada?

DME prices are always full retail list price as set by the manufacturer. This is where they make most of their money - by selling everything at the highest possible price. When paying out of your own pocket, the DME is the last place you want to buy.

Note: Resmed and Respironics products cannot be shipped directly to Canadian customers.
Mailing services can get supplies through customs, for a fee.
Mask insurance only covers 30 days, so using it by Canadians would be a challenge.

It depends. For masks it looks like it's a lot cheaper, but not for machines.

I use the F&P Eson mask. The cheapest I can find it in Canada is around $140 CAD. It is currently on sale for $63.90 USD on cpap.com. If you include the $17 USD shipping, the total is $80.90 USD. With the exchange rate, that roughly equals $110 CAD. That's a savings of $30 CAD. For the Simplus, It's $260 in Canada, and $145 from cpap.com.

Machines however, are roughly the same. A Resmed A10 APAP costs $883 USD. After exchange, that's $1172 CAD. You can find the A10 APAP for that price here in Canada.

Luckily I use F&P masks (the Eson). I guess as long as you already use the mask you purchase the insurance isn't an issue.

NOTE: There is a difference with Resmed as well. The F10 mask costs $230 in Canada and $200 from cpap.com. It might actually be worth going over to Buffalo if you use that mask.

Ok good to know! I already spend 4-5 months in the US so getting myself things while down there is easy. I also have friends in Michigan who I can ship to that will reship to me if I'm not seeing them anytime soon.

CPAP.com's shipping is also only an extra $17, so if you buy your supplies in a large batch, you'll still save a ton.
