All machines are sold. Thanks for your kind words and comments. Have a blast tearing apart the next person who posts something for sale on this forum. It's been real!

whoodeedoo wrote:I am no longer in need of my pap equipment. I have had a Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) and a procedure to correct a deviated septum. It has been six months I just repeated a sleep study and I'm proud to say AHI has gone from 26 to less than 2 and ZERO oxygen desaturation. My Dr. has discontinued use of any pap device which I am super happy for. That being said, my equipment is out of here!

All machines are clean, I do not smoke, nor does anyone in my home.
All machines come with travel case and humidifier.
If you are interested in all of them, Lets make a deal.
I would prefer to ship continental U.S. only please.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Pictures of the machines can be seen at the links below the description.
That's what you think.
You'd better keep your equipment because the UPPP is not that effective (about 40%) and only for a short period of time.......about 6 months. Don't get mad at me, I'm just telling you what past "victims" of that surgery have reported.
Obviously you didn't do searches on this site about the surgery before you had it.......or you would have decided against it.
The OSA will typically come back and some have reported needing higher pressures and even bi-level therapy. Only a few have reported needing lower pressures.......but still have OSA.

Best of luck, but keep the equipment.......you're eventually going to need it.

I have to agree with wulfman. I had the surgery around 1996 or 1997. I had the deviated septum corrected, soft pallet reformation, and had the sinus cavities cleaned out. At that time, I opted for the surgery because my job required a lot of travel, and the cpap machines were much larer than they are now. I am now on bipap and should have been on it several years age, but I kept telling myself it didn't need it.

Interestingly, the vast majority of the OP's posting history seems to be made up of posts selling equipment.

Maybe he/she never even had the surgery and is just using it as an excuse for selling more equipment.

Good for you. Glad it worked for you. No sense in keeping the machine hanging around. If the problem returns, you can go back and get another sleep study and another (new) machine. I would be happy to buy one from you because I need a backup machine, except it turns out the Resmed algorithm works better for me than Respironics. Good prices though. Take care!

As to listing machines for sale as only posts, not a big deal. There are TONS of lurkers who never post and he was probably one of them.

Did you even read any of the other posts after the original?
This poster joined a little less than a year ago and virtually all of the posts they made were to sell equipment (machines and masks). I'd suggest you read the OP's posts and think about it further. In my mind, it doesn't add up.

viewtopic/t107590/search.php?author_id=73483&sr=posts

But, if this person gets all of their equipment sold, they will probably no longer be on the forum selling equipment (with that username).

Jeez! A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing.

The OP sold his backup machine when he changed careers and no longer needed it. Then he sold a nasal mask because he switched to a FFM.

Now he is getting out because of the surgery.

And, you could be a poster child for that statement, too.

If you'd bother to read some of the other posts about it, like the following (in this thread) or do forum searches on "UPPP", you'd find MANY discussions about it. The vast majority of the folks having that surgery done have had many regrets.

Here. I even did a forum search on it for you. About 115 pages of results. Just browsing down the first page of results will provide some info and comments by some who had it done.

I have a resmed s9 auto set for sale.It was a second machine, I used it when I was on the road driving a truck. I have since changed career paths and don't need the second machine. It has 322 hours on it, comes with the bag and humidifier. It does need a new water chamber. I'm asking $500.00 OBO.

I use a respironics remstar auto, ds 550. My pressure is 8-12. I am using a nasal mask, a respironics nuance nasal pillows. I just picked up a respironics Amara full face mask. I hope I can handle it. It was a lot more comfortable breathing through it vs nasal pillows.

3 respironics Nuance masks $60

Postby whoodeedoo on Tue Nov 11, 2014 7:13 pm
I have switched to a full face system and I am never looking back. I have 3 respironics Nuance masks brand new, never opened. I will sell them for $60 for all three. Shipped. Message me if you are interested.

I am no longer in need of my pap equipment.

Phillips respironics Bipap pro 660p with 105.5 Machine hours $300.00

Phillips respironics Bipap pro 660p with 49.6 Machine hours ( bought off of craigslist for a backup ) $300.00

Looks like more than ONE backup machine to me.
I believe there were three machines in the original post in this thread before the thread was edited.
And, there were THREE masks.

According to my calculations, that's FOUR or FIVE machines (autos and bi-levels) and at least three masks this person had or has been trying to sell on this forum in less than a year.

Maybe YOU can accept their story, but.......
All I was saying is that it looked a little strange to me......mostly sales but very few questions about his/her own therapy.
And, NO prior inquiries about UPPP (like many others who contemplated having the surgery done).
AND.......UPPP surgery has a long history of being less than successful at "curing" OSA.

I had the same question when I first read your comment, Den.

I personally know several people who had UPPPs that turned out to be only partially effective at best. They knew it as soon as the surgery healed - shown by sleep studies or oximetry studies or wives telling them they still snored heavily.

But here, you say something different - "will ... come back".

What's this "come back" stuff? You are saying they are free of OSA and then it comes back? That's the way I read it and it is something I never heard of and it is not in the threads you provided.

Maybe you were just posting sloppily and meant UPPP "typically is not a cure".
