RemZzzs Mask Liners?

Post by SofaBear » Mon Aug 31, 2015 4:41 pm

So sorry if this question has already been asked. This forum has lots of good stuff, but it's hard to search thru all of it.
What do you think of the RemZzzs mask liners? Yea or nay?

You are going to find that most of this CPAP stuff comes with a big YMMV (your mileage may vary) sticker and that goes along with mask liners of any kind...be it Remzzzs or Padacheek or whatever.
Lots of people swear by them and love them and some people have tried them and don't like them.

Remzzzs get a little pricey since they are "disposable" but people do get multiple nights of use out of them by washing and ironing.
Padacheek makes mask liners designed to last months and months.
Some people who use mask liners will prefer the Remzzzs and some will prefer the Padacheek (padacheek.com) liners.

You can get a sort of idea about how you will do with a mask liner by trying a homemade liner first.
Just use an old worn out Tshirt or something similar.

What issue are you hoping a mask liner to help with? Leaks? Mask lines on the face? Comfort?
What mask are you using now?

When you have time please add your equipment to your profile like I have mine. It helps us help you faster when we don't have to as what you are using.

Hi, I am pretty new here but began using Remzzz because of leaks. I think they are great! As Pugsy said, opinions vary. There have been a couple of recent threads that have talked over Remzzz. Tips and tricks. I do not know how to put a link here but one recent thread called 'CPAP not for me' has info. A search will reveal others, as well. Probably the same for padacheek, too.
Best wishes and welcome! I say "yea!" To Remzzz.

RemZZZ are "Okay" but, they're expensive and thin/flimsy/stretchy and also seem to be a very loose knit that lets air pass through quite a bit. Their tendency to curl up in two directions is a pain too. I have been making my own full face mask liners from some microfiber polishing cloths, the thickness and density of them seal and prevent all of the leaks I had the with RemZZZ. They're very comfy (almost like soft flannel pajamas)and last forever if they're washed by hand. Try it, you'll like it.

Thank you guys.
When I got my first setup on Thursday, I was told to remove any face creams because they can degrade the silicone cushion.
I thought the pads might help preserve the silicone a little bit. I do realize that moisturizers, oils and such can still penetrate the pad, but every little bit helps. That was one reason I'm considering them.

I just ordered the RemZzzs's, but I love your idea, Gasper62! Gonna try it.

If you like an affordable disposable, cut some out of Viva paper towels,
or the Viva table napkins that pop up in a box. (Nice and soft)
Several years ago, there was some report that Medicare would cover them; but in lieu of a silicone cushion!
I would imagine they have come to their senses.

The RemZzzs mask liners worked excellent for me. What I did however I used one of the liners has a pattern, and cut my own liner from t-shirt material I bought from Joann Fabric store.

My home made ones last longer and it is much cheaper.

I wish you well...

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
