Sleepyhead and Sleepmapper leak rate discrepancy

Post by cinephile » Mon Aug 03, 2015 7:44 pm

Hello everyone.

I just loaded my data into sleepyhead and according to sleepyhead's intro text, it said that last night (8/2) I had "significant periods of major mask leakage." However, this doesn't jibe with what the Respironics Sleepmapper says at all. In fact, the Sleepmapper says I had a 99% mask fit!

Also, when I looked at last night's leak graph in SH, I saw that other than a brief spike in leaks, the total leaks looked pretty mild (didn't seem to go above 50L/min for whole night except for the spike).

***Finally: what is "bad leak territory" numbers for my equipment/pressure? I'm guessing total leak around 80 L/min).

Thanks!

My SH graph from last night:

You looking at the right chart?
Current Settings PS 4.0 over 10.6-18.0 (cmH2O) - Resmed S9 VPAP Auto w/h5i Humidifier - Quattro Air FFM
TNET Sleep Resource Pages - CPAP Machine Database

Krelvin -- I'm not sure what you mean by "right chart." I'm talking about the "leak rate" chart shown below. Other than the spike, it looks fine to me, but Sleepyhead said I had a significant period of time with large leaks. And it is the correct night's chart.

SleepyHead's wording where it says "significant blah blah blah" is over conservative.

Also...you need to check out the large leak threshold default setting in SleepyHead. It defaults to 24 L/min which is ResMed's line in the sand and won't work with the PR S1 machine. You need to change it to around 80 to 90 L/min because that's closure to where large leak territory is on your machine.

Open SleepyHead and go to Preferences (upper left under File) and go to the CPAP tab....look at the upper right where it says
"Flag leaks over threshold" and put 80 L/min in it with the check mark in the box.
It will recalculate your leak data. I suspect SH has been working off the 24 L/min number and that won't work with your machine.

The date is wrong. It is showing the 3rd which would not have happened yet. It doesn't normally start until afternoon but you are showing it already reading data after midnight.
Yesterday's night data date would have been the 2nd.

You're right Krelvin! I see at the very bottom of the screenshot it says "Aug 03," and yet the data was for August 2nd, as seen on the upper-left calendar.

I just uploaded last night's data (8/3), and it now says "Aug 04" at the bottom, and it doesn't matter which date on the calendar I choose -- it always states "Aug 04" at the bottom!

Is this just a benign bug I can disregard, or something more worrisome? Must be some problem with the system time/date code in the program.

Thanks.
