AirSense 10 Autoset for Sale!

Post by rockncountry101 » Sun Aug 02, 2015 11:54 am

I have a very slightly used Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset for Her with climateline hose that was purchased on 7/7. It has only 144.3 hours of use over 23 days. Smoke free, pet free, child free, one adult home. It is in mint condition and includes everything. Does anyone buy these? Thanks.

If you don't get a response here...go to secondwindcpap.com....They buy like new equipment.

Whether people buy them here depends on the price! You've got a bunch of very savvy cpap users here and your competition is cpap.com (our sponsors) and secondwindcpap.com - and they come with a warranty.

So, if your price is good enough, someone might be interested. But if you're hoping to get anywhere near the inflated "list prices", you will be disappointed.

Does this mean you have decided to give up? You haven't even received your new mask yet have you?

Why are you thinking about selling it?
If you're still considering giving up on your therapy.......YOU'D BE MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE!!!
You haven't even scratched the surface with options to make it work. And, I don't even think you've tried to take anybody else's advice about things to try.

Years ago I was put on several anti-depressants. I was taking 2 mg of Xanax and 20 mg of Lexapro every day. After almost a complete cessation of Lexapro I have found that my sleep has been MUCH improved. I've been exercising daily and eating better. Last night I had the best night of sleep that I have had in over 20 years. I forced myself to sleep on my side and I've been going to bed much earlier. I haven't used the machine for days and feel much better than when I was using it. My apnea was almost non-existent from the start and I really believe that I jumped the gun on buying into the sleep apnea diagnosis. My main problem was fatigue and a hazy, foggy feeling during the day. That has passed. It truly is miraculous. I should have tried these things much sooner than I did. I have no doubt that some people really need their machines. In my case I just needed to make a few lifestyle changes. Since my allergy treatments I am starting to breathe through my nose much better and that helps tremendously at night as well.

It might be a good idea to hang on to the machine for a month or two and see how things go. It will not make any difference in the price you get for it.

I believe you're in serious denial.
Don't get rid of the machine and supplies......even if you THINK you can exist without it.
Most of us thought WE were getting good nights' sleep before we had out sleep studies, too.

I agree, hold onto the machine for awhile just to be sure. I am happy for you that you got a great nights sleep last night but give it more time. There are nights I don't use my machine because I tell myself I deserve a break and I sleep great (people will say I too am in denial) but I do know I still have apnea.
Try the new mask when it comes this week, you have nothing to lose.

Good luck!

I did Cancun. It was the Swift FX pillows. I couldn't breathe out against them. It was torture. My best bet is to go to a DME and try SEVERAL masks on.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I am going to hang on to my machine for the time being. I have a lot of 'lifestyle' changes to make and will see where it goes. My AHI was only 4.7 so I know that's considered "normal." Or at least that's what my insurance company said. All the medication I take causes so many arousals that I don't get much REM but I sure dream a lot. I know that things are going to change and I will be prepared with my machine! I just have to go see a DME that has a lot of different masks in stock and try them on.

What pressure settings were you trying to use when you tried the nasal pillows masks and had such a hard time exhaling against them...and what size nasal pillows were you trying?
Edit....also...were you using ramp?

Maybe you should also try some different settings in your machine. It would help if you'd put them in your profile. But, if you start with something that you CAN breathe out against......maybe that would help.
Heck, my sleep doctor prescribed a (fixed) pressure of 18 cm. and I found very quickly that it was way too much for me to tolerate, so I reset my pressure to 10 cm. and that was OK.........but, I also found that it was very close to an optimal pressure for me. So, that's where I left it (for a year) and watched my "numbers" go down. I finally did some experimenting and found that 12 cm. was about ideal.

I was given a pressure of 9. I was using small size because the other ones were too big. It seems they fit perfectly and I could breathe in but I had a hard time breathing out. I didn't set a ramp. I did however have the EPR set to 3.
