2 nights on APAP and feeling FANTASTIC!

Post by rachelp » Sun Jul 26, 2015 7:30 am

Last night was night two and seriously I've never felt better! 8 hours of sleep with the APAP letting me breathe and I'm a whole new person! The nasal pillows I'm using don't bother me at all. I just can't believe I didn't do this sooner! My skin is a little tingly after waking?! Anyone else feel that?

An update to my other thread about the rainout. Last night I turned the humidity down to 3 and it was perfect! No rainout and I slept like a champ for 8 full hours with the mask on and an AHI of 1.83.

For anyone bucking change and not wanting to use the machine please give it a shot. I think attitude is a lot of it and I came in ready to make this work. I did all the research practically read every thread on this site going about 6 pages deep. It's working beautifully and I encourage all newbies to stick with it because once you get it right this feeling is so worth it!

Congratulations on being one of the lucky ones that CPAP works for right away and it definitely helped that you researched it and prepared yourself first! Good for you! Keep posting and encouraging others myself included! I am not one of those lucky ones but I am not giving up.

It took me 3 nights, as I am slow . All the big stuff got taken care of and I went from 127 events a night to 4, whooo hoooo, total bliss and I could smile in the morning. Then I became sensitive to all the small stuff, that I am getting under control now. This stuff works and your system may have been set to perfect settings, if not those settings are out there. Never give up, never surrender. Congrats on getting some good sleep and responding well to therapy!
Sleeping MUCH better now

Congratulations. Have to admit that I'm envious. I'm a month in and no change as yet even though I'm compliant with little mask leakage. I'm giving it 3 months.

Keep going there's got to be the perfect one for you!

I'm about a week into using the apap and I've never felt better. My AHI is between .6-2.5 for the week. The P10 nasal pillows seem to be perfect for me because I have no leak issues, I'm wearing it 8+ hours a night, and no nose soreness I hear about.

I had so much energy Saturday I shampooed all the carpets in my house, did tons of laundry, and I started working out again and NO naps. I work online from home and I was able to do a large chunk of work without falling asleep. This has been nearly impossible for the past few years. The machine has been a god send for me.

My husband is not the researcher I am and he's been on the cpap for about 7 years and rarely wears it though the night and still feels sleepy all the time. He's never thought to google and figure out what's going on. I'm thinking he needs some adjusting so that's my current project. It doesn't help that his machine is as old as the hills so no data. Maybe a new one is in his future.

That is really great to hear!

I have been on it a year and while I am not bouncing off the wall with energy, I am sleeping through the night. I also don't need a nap in the afternoon anymore! It's funny - I thought my bladder was waking me up all the time. Really it was my breathing (or lack thereof) and then my bladder was like - Cool, you're up!

I hope your success continues!
