I ran across this little article basically saying OSA may also affect us
when we are trying to exercise. It might be interesting to try using
cpap during exercise .

Re: Exercise
Interesting. I wonder if that has anything to do with my recent dx of exercise-induced hypertension and exercise-induced arrhythmia (with a healthy heart)?...

Re: Exercise
I think some people with pulmonary disease or heart-problems have trouble with exercising. But on the otherhand. If anything a study I read suggested that exercise, green-tea and a anti-oxidant rich diet, helps mitigate the neuro-hypoxic injury and atherosclerosis from sleep apnea by diminishing the effects of oxidation. So anyone who does have untreated sleep apnea would benefit from a healthy lifestyle and anyone recovering from sleep apnea, should do the same. I'm going to embark on a regimen of exercise and green-tea extract.
Re: Exercise
CPAP during exercise doesn't work. Trust me ! I've left my mask on a number of times during sex and darn near died from lack of oxygen! I'm 77 and need all the air and sex I can get ! Lol, Dan

Re: Exercise
I'm not sure how that would work.
However, I do know I don't get enough O2 during exercise, from various tests I've had done, including a stress test that included VO2 Max, so the study seems to make sense in my limited experience - except I was blaming it on my centrals, not my obstructives, with my thought process being that if I'm not smart enough to remember to breath when asleep, it made sense that I'd forget to breath when exercising too Giggling aside, my drs are still trying to determine exactly what's going on with me, but their thinking is it's a heart/lung issue, and pulmonary hypertension has been tossed around -- which can be either a result of, or a cause of, apnea.
