Using Airfit P10
Resmed S9 Autoset (pressure 5.4-8.0, EPR 2)
Heated tubing
Large cushions.
Hypoallergenic filters, replaced at least once every 20 days.
I'm having a bit of trouble with my setup. While the numbers look good (AHI almost always below 5, low leaks, usually able to get a whole night's sleep) I'm still waking up foggy, with a headache. I'm wondering if the P10 mask is causing issues. I used to use the Swift FX mask, and I was able to wake up rested, but I'm not doing anywhere as well now. I tried going back to the Swift FX, but I now find it leaky, noisy, uncomfortable, and generally annoying. I'm really not able to fall asleep while using it anymore.
My feeling is that I'm rebreathing air; incoming air feels stale, and I have to be careful not to breath too hard. I clean the mask exhaust roughly once a week (toothbrush and baby shampoo), and it doesn't feel much different after cleaning. I am able to feel the exhaust if I place my fingers near the mask, and there's definitely some airflow, I just don't think there's enough. I tried increasing the minimum pressure, and 5.4 is the highest tolerable.
Anyone have any tips, or any other mask I might want to look at?

Re: Having trouble with Airfit P10
install sleepyhead. Load up your machine data. See the following :
Tidal Volume
Respiratory rate
Minute ventilation
Now evaluate these for P10 days and for swift fx days.
If you were indeed breathing stale air with more CO2, your body will raise the minute ventilation. If that number is in same range for different masks, it means that you are NOT inhaling stale air with more CO2.
Once you have eliminated this concern, all you may need to do is give it time. Your body will adjust soon.

At any pressure below 7, it feels like I am not getting enough air. Many others say the same.whengreg wrote:pressure 5.4-8.0
You might want to increase the minimum pressure to 7 and see how you feel the next morning. (This is assuming you don't have central apnea.)
It's a good idea to go to the User Control Panel and put this in your equipment profile. Then it will be under your Userid every time you post.whengreg wrote:Using Airfit P10

Yeah, yeah.ChicagoGranny wrote:It's a good idea to go to the User Control Panel and put this in your equipment profile. Then it will be under your Userid every time you post.
To be clear, I've been using the P10 since soon after release. (Around Jan 2014, I think?) This isn't a recent change. This also means I don't have any Swift FX data.
(Min/Med/95%/Max)
Tidal Volume L/Min: 100.00 360.00 540.00 1460.00
(6 foot tall male. That seems suspiciously low.)
Resp rate Breathes/min: 3.00 16.20 20.00 32.20
Minute vent (L/min): 2.12 5.88 7.62 24.50
I've tried turning up the pressure in the past, but have had trouble dealing with it. I'm willing to give it another shot, though.
