Post by charlesrshell » Thu Jul 02, 2015 4:28 pm

Received email today about the new Q-Tube In-Line CPAP Muffler Kit. It is suppose to reduce machine and airflow noise. Has anyone else received an email about this new product? If so, what do you think? Email says we can pre order it from cpap.com. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/human- ... REMINDER-B

I use an S9 and find it very quiet...I would have no use for a muffler.

The caveats for this unit restrict it to cpap units with no humidification.
That cuts out most of the market.

Most noise comes from the vent air hitting the pillow or sheets.

I just spent several nights in a hotel with my daughter - she had no complaints (mind you she used to call me Mama Bear before I started on cpap so she is happy with the sound the machine makes instead of listening to me snore)

Finally!!! That is the new silencer for the Z1 and I assume will work for Transcend as well. I've been using it since November and it does indeed work well.

If you or your sleeping partner are bothered by the noise then I recommend you get one.

I was just at a wedding and ended up with the grandkids in my hotel room with me and the wife. My Z1 Auto was silent, nobody noticed it or complained. I normally am alone when I use my Z1 Auto so it was good to get this confirmation from others.

I've got lots of experience with it so I can probably answer your questions.

I use a CPAP pillow. It seems to help a little with vent air hitting the pillow.

Awesome chunkyfrog, I am glad you likey it much. If my S9 AutoSet ever breaks down, going to get me a AirSense 10 too. Thanks

Thanks bill-e for the info. My S9 AutoSet with AirFit F10 mask is super quiet. But, the muffler might make it even more quieter yet. I think I will try it out.

Charles, the Q-Tube is placed near the machine and reduces machine noise which would normally get amplified in the hose. It will not reduce any mask noise.

I know, I can barely hear my machine. Maybe I won't hear it at all with the muffler. Time will tell.

Did you read what JDS74 wrote? You will have to give up your humidifier if you want to use the muffler. I see that you are using the H5i with your S9.

I hardly ever use the humidifier.
