A Good Data Capable Machine?

Post by rockncountry101 » Thu Jul 02, 2015 2:22 pm

Okay...after a LONG time, I finally have received my prescription for a machine. I feel like a piece of driftwood on the sea when I look at the options. I want a good auto machine that has the best data capabilities. I would like something that can also read RERAs because I have problems with that. I had around 253 spontaneous arousals last sleep study. I was being titrated at 9. Most everything else saw significant improvements. I don't mind spending money on it because it will hopefully help me. Thanks!

have you looked at your other threads when you asked the same question?
Current Settings PS 4.0 over 10.6-18.0 (cmH2O) - Resmed S9 VPAP Auto w/h5i Humidifier - Quattro Air FFM
TNET Sleep Resource Pages - CPAP Machine Database
Put your equip in your Signature - SleepyHead v1.0.0-beta-1

is there some award for creating new redundant threads that I'm not aware of, or is this more enchanter effect afflicting others?

that's a convenient excuse, but figuring out how to operate a computer, log into the forum, make a post... that requires an amount of concentration and thinking... the choice to keep things in a thread, or shotgun all over the place is pretty trivial compared to what it takes to get here... ya know?

Good grief. I'm sorry. I had about three suggestions on there and considering thousands log in I figured that I would get a few more suggestions. I had very few responses where some posts have hundreds. I'll make it a point not to make the same mistake. Geez.

it wasn't explained, but the reason that people are encouraged to stick to a single thread for their issues is that it makes it really easy to scroll back and see what was already said, to better understand the issues you're asking about, instead of not having any clue what you've asked and been told, or suggestions that have already been made and discounted,.... etc.

you'll just get better help if you keep the info together...

make sense?

It does. Do I go back to the previous forum and then *bump* it?

I do have my eyes on the Resmed AirSense 10 for HER. I need something for RERAs as well.

or, add something to it.. like what you put here.. you can even change the title on the original post to keep things current, witness chunkyfrog magnificently managed breast cancer thread... viewtopic/t104717/OTDefective-frogBreas ... CURED.html and see how the subject changes as the story progresses...

I am pretty new to this, I have the AirSense 10 but not the for her and for some reason mine does show the RERA's on the sleepyhead report. I do not know if their is a difference in price. I have read good things on this site about that machine (the for her). It is also "prettier". I personally don't care about the looks. I also don't have the FFM mask that is for her and has a pink strap mine is blue. Good luck with your decision.
Also ignore the cranks!

This is what I am looking at as well. I don't get my appointment with the Tech until July 14th, but I have been researching online and reading through this site and it seems like an optimal machine. I have also heard how the DME can try and push the machine they would like on you, so you have to be firm in what you want. I guess the Dr writes the script...so I will be seeing mine next week and will tell her then what I want. After all its our money and our health....we should get what we want!

Have you been comparing machines as well? If so, what have you found?

Thanks.

I don't know about this. RERAs and spontaneous arousals are two different things in the glossary I have.

The machine can't sense a RERA because you are not wearing abdominal belts to measure respiratory effort and there is no EEG to detect arousals.

I do know with my insurance I did have to pay an "upcharge" of $150 to the DME to get the ResMed Airsense 10, I guess they had a dollar amount they would cover but the DME did not have a problem giving me what I wanted but I would not have accepted anything else. Definitely be firm with them and tell them you will go to someone else.
