Here are my Sleep Test Numbers (Titration)

Post by Enchanter » Wed Jul 01, 2015 4:54 pm

So I was able to pick up a copy from May 8th. I have done 4 tests so far. First one was on April 25th. It was a diagnosis. 2nd one was on May 5th, it was a titration. 3rd one was the home study a couple weeks ago. The last one was a titration just last Friday. The doctor's assistant only had the 2nd test, which was done on May 8th.

She said they're filing a complaint with the sleep company because other than myself, other people have had a bad experience with that lab. She said that people are always coming back with inconclusive test results and the waiting time's horrendous for them. So she says they are the worst sleep lab they've ever dealt with.

Sorry, that is on the sleep doctor OR doctor. If they have had issues before they should not be sending people there. Sounds like a cop out and I would seriously be talking to the insurance company about not paying for those studies. No results = No test.

As for the results, I certainly have questions but I'll wait for someone else to speak up who can decipher this more.

Hey people - we've been giving him a hard time for a long time because of no results to go by... now there are a bunch and if I could interpret them properly I would, but I'm sure others can... I know he's waiting!

An image scan of the report would have been better, Enchanter.

There are results, but this test was inconclusive, and I didn't sleep much, no REM either.

There were 4 tests, I only got 1. The assistant said she'll put in a call and see where the others are as well as the new one.
The home test, I don't think I'll ever get that though. They were confused by it.

If Enchanter keyed all this accurately, IPAP = 11 resulted in his lowest AHI.

I don't have an image scanner, but we'll see if pics work.

Write a letter directly to the doctor. Request complete copies of all 4 test results. Also request a copy of your entire file with the doctor. Send the letter to the doctor registered mail. Keep a copy of the letter. Keep your receipt.

If the pictures do not work, possibly Office Depot or Kinkos can help you.

How's this for a first cut estimate?

If Enchanter keyed all this accurately, IPAP = 11 resulted in his lowest AHI.
IPAP = EPAP + PS....... EPAP = IPAP - PS....... EPAP = 11 - PS
So EPAP setting would be 11 - Pressure Support if he used the AUTO mode
on his machine.

PR, what should pressure support be? Maybe 2 to 4?
If we use 3 then EPAP setting would be 11 - 3 = 8 in the AUTO mode.

BUT, if he' stays with using FIXED pressure, we need to see the lab report results for
the various IPAP and EPAP settings. What do you think, PR? Anybody?

Enchanter, we're missing the top half of page 1. Importantly, we're also missing the Pressure Distribution section.

Where's the Pressure Distribution section from which you keyed the data at the bottom of your first post here? I don't see it in your pictures?
