New Post Sleepyhead HELP

Well, I had to uninstall my download and start over again with a new download. got it done right this time, I don't know what happened to make it disappear the other day. However, it is in German! How do I get it in English?? Can't find a way to PM jedimark... I know about three words of German!

This happened to me.
Go into the main SleepyHead folder and delete the language folder and it should default to English.

I cannot find anything relative to language anywhere... the other day it downloaded in English... what the ??

See a folder that says "Transalations"?

Nothing at all that says or refers to language..

Which version of SleepyHead?

Are you using Windows OS or Mac?

In Windows version 0.9.8-1 64 bit I have a translation folder that has all the languages in it. Last folder before all the individual files. If you don't have that folder then I don't know what else to try.

Go to the first menu in the upper left. In english, it says "file". (Datei)

Pick the third choice from the top. In english, it says "edit profile". (Profil bearbeiten)

In the window that opens, the bottom part of the window says "locale settings". (locale-Einstellungen)

Pull down the menu and pick "united states". If it's in German, it will say "Vereinigte Staaten".

Change your timezone to be correct. Click the Next button and change anything else you need to.

I cannot click on File (datei) as that top line is grayed out... took me a while to get to that page because several popups appeared, all in German and I had to try several times, not knowing which choice to make (yes, no).

EDIT: finally got to File, and set it for United States, but I don't know the word for Next, had to guess, then a bunch of other screens came up but I don't know what information was requested except for email and phone...all still in German. I lost the minimize/close buttons while doing this stuff so now I can't close it out and I'm ready to shut down for the night. Sometimes I hate computers!

I just went through the additional screens for you and you can just keep clicking the right-most button, which is Next (Nächster) These are just name, address, doctor's name, etc - nothing you need to fill in.

After the last page, there will be a popup asking if you want to accept and save the information you entered. You need to click the left-most button in this popup for Yes (Ja).

At that point, all the menus and everything should be back to english.

I will try that again, yaconsult. I did click through all the screens, saw the finish button, did that. I will go through it all again. Thank you. If that doesn't work, I'll PM jedimark. I had hoped that by shutting down after finally figuring out what happened to the close button, it would open again this morning in English, but no such luck.

Well, I finally managed to get a half-English/half-German version of Sleepyhead ... weird stuff going on I guess. I can live with it this way as I know what I'm looking at on the graphs, etc... but it's really weird! Anybody know what's going on with this? Pugsy, I found the "translation" file in this last download and followed your suggestion to delete it; this is the result.

When I had the foreign language problem it was with the version of Sleepyhead just prior to this one and removing all the other languages fixed the problem without a mixture of language like you are seeing.

I don't know what to offer other than a total removal again and this time make sure that the SleepyHead app folder in my documents also gets removed because removing SleepyHead doesn't remove that folder and it might be corrupted.

Oh..thought of one thing to maybe try....try creating another user profile and if it works you can just remove the buggered up profile. Do you know where those profiles are? They are in the MyDocuments SleepyHead app folder.

At least with your machine all the data is on the SD card so you don't have to worry about losing old graphs like ResMed users have happen to them.

I might do that sometime; right now I'm tired of dealing with it.. good idea, if I can figure out how to remove the old profile, etc.

Looks like language is stored in the registry. If so, that means you can't just delete the profile or edit the file.

You'd have to edit the registry. That's like asking how much a boat costs. If you have to ask, you don't want to know.

You could try creating a new profile, and copying your downloaded data files over to the directory that Sleepyhead creates for it. I've used various subterfuges to take care of problems with Sleepyhead in the past *smile*. If you PM Mark he'll respond when he can, he's been very helpful to me a couple of times via PM when I have had problems.
