Quattro FX vs. AirFit F10 FFM
Quattro FX vs. AirFit F10 FFM
I need to order a new mask to replace a worn Quattro (original with the forehead piece).
I was thinking to get the Quattro FX. But after looking at ResMed's videos on the AirFit F10 FFM, I am considering it.
So what do people think who have used these masks?
Thanks!

Re: Quattro FX vs. AirFit F10 FFM
I really like my F10 as it doesn't have a strap around the forehead and I feel so free! I had been using Quattro Air since starting CPAP in Feb. 2014, and F10 uses the same cushion so there wasn't a huge difference otherwise. I think I would have trouble going back to the Air because of that forehead strap, though I've kept it as backup if needed.

Now using AirFit F10 mask; Quattro Air is backup mask. RemZzzz mask liners with both.
Re: Quattro FX vs. AirFit F10 FFM
I have both masks. The QFX seems to be a bit wider than the F10. The vent on the QFX is louder and will blow on your bed partner, if that's an issue. The vent on the F10 is quieter and diffused so that it wouldn't blow directly on your bed partner. The QFX is older and has more parts and is heavier than the F10. Both masks are very good.
I have used the QFX for over 2 years and wanted to try the F10 because it is lighter than the QFX and has fewer parts. Ultimately, I prefer the QFX because, for some reason, the F10 causes me to have dry mouth. I haven't figured out why but is a consistent outcome every time I use it. It's slightly wider configuration also fits my face better.
I have an ASV machine that has high pressure swings, frequently up to 25. I purchased the blue mesh headgear (https://www.cpap.com/productpage/softca ... aQodUqUAig) to keep the mask on my face. That, along with a mask liner, keeps my masks leak-free.

Thank you so much for the replies.
I want to ask you about the cushion on my FX. The inner edges of the flexible cushion feel sharp on my face and this can be disconcerting when I am trying to fall asleep. Has anyone else had this experience?
In the newer models, do the inner edges still feel sharp?
I think when the soft material is cut, the cut is straight and this causes the sharpness. I wonder if there is a cutting tool that would leave the edges a bit rounded?

I made my own cushion liner out of micro fleece which goes between the cushion and your face. This should soften the sensation of a sharp edge against your skin. This is the inside view of a pad a cheek liner for the QFX:

I'd have to weigh in and say the F10 AirFit blows the old Quattro FX out of the water in just about every category. Of course, that's just me and my face talking

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Re: Quattro FX vs. AirFit F10 FFM
I have been using the Airfit F10 for about a year. I was switching back and forth between the Quattro Air and the Airfit F10 but have settled on the F10. Like having no head strap. I use a cloth sleep mask as I'm very sensitive to light and the sleep mask fits better with out a strap piece.
I've found that occasionally the pillow moves the mask slightly but I'm so used to it now that I just adjust the mask a little bit and go back to sleep.

And... the Quattro Air and the F10 use the same cushion. The Quattro Air being kind of a lightweight version of the Mirage Quattro, if you wanted to go back to a mask with a forehead piece (new headgear would be required). I've used all four of these masks, and like some others, I recommend against the FX.

I have used both of these and many other FFMs and prefer ResMed masks. They really put a lot into the development of their products and unlike other manufacturers listen to customer reviews to make improvements. The Resmed F10 is indeed smaller at the mouth area and that's the main reason I prefer the Quattro FX, it doesn't make me feel like my mouth is going to pop out of the mask and the F10 it is heavier than the QFX The QFX is so light after I've had the mask on for a while I honestly forget I'm even wearing a mask.
