Hey guys! I'm new to cpaptalk so I hope I'm doing this right
I wear a chin strap along with my CPAP (and oral appliance - oh what fun), but I'm concerned about it holding oil. I have a "Ruby-Style Chin Strap" (similar to this one on CPAP.com: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/ruby-s ... strap.html). I've recently had a massive breakout, especially along my cheeks where the chin strap lays. It's lasted a while now (about a month or so) and I'm worried that the chin strap is making it worse. I'm going to see the dermatologist when I head home in about a week or so, but in the meantime: has anyone else had this problem? Or can anyone recommend something that can take away some of the oil that I'm sure has collected on my chin strap? I'm thinking about fastening cotton or something to the inside where it's against my cheek, but I was wondering if anyone had experienced something similar/had a better idea.
I hope that makes sense. I know not everyone wears a chin strap so my internet searches thus far have brought up nothing.
Thank you guys!

Re: Chin Strap + Keeping Face Clean
I use the Ruby chinstrap every night and haven't had any skin problems for the two years I've been using it. I do wash it in soapy water, give it a thorough rinse and air dry it about twice a week. It never has any smell or detectable problem with skin oil that I could find. I have heard of some people putting a Kleenex between the skin and the strap but of course that is more work to do at bedtime. I'm curious so please let us know what your dermatologist has to say.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
