Finally AHI 2.85 But Still Feel Like a Zombie
Thanks to the fine people on this forum, I think I finally have the right mask. It was bruising the bridge of my nose but I ordered a liner from padacheek and it seems to have helped. Last night was the first night with the liner, and I know it was leaking severely at times which I need to figure out...BUT...I FINALLY have an AHI under 5.0. My AHI was 2.85 last night.
WHY do I still feel like a complete zombie when I wake up? This machine is a loaner APAP machine and they said that I need a Bi Level or ASV machine. I go in next Thursday to test those out. Do you think that will help me? I've had this APAP machine for a month and I still feel worse using it than I do without.
How do I post the screenshot of my latest sleepyhead report? I see the Img button but don't see an upload option. According to SleepHead almost all of my events last night were "Hypo Apneas".
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me! I'll add the machine and mask I'm currently using to my profile right now. The only other bit of info I can add is that they had the machine set at 10 to 20, but I recently changed it to 15 to 20 and that seems to have helped some.
THANKS!

even at best, it takes a while to recover from years of crap sleep..... hopefully you're on the right track now though.

Thanks for the reply palerider. I know how to take a screenshot but I'm not sure how to upload it to this post for everyone to see the screenshot photo.
And I guess all that I'm really asking is this. My doctors loaned me a Resperonics System One Auto CPAP for a month while my new insurance kicks in. They know I actually need a Bi Level or ASV machine and I go in next week to test those out. I'm finally used to the mask though and can sleep with it on the whole night finally. I understand that not everyone feels great right away and I'm prepared to stick it out...but do you think that the Bi Level Machine or ASV machine is the missing link for me? Are those machines radically different from Auto CPAP machines? I still don't understand the difference between them.

Re: Finally AHI 2.85 But Still Feel Like a Zombie
Thanks! Sometimes I forget about Youtube. Here is a video that was really helpful. Sounds like getting the right machine that works for me is the next step.

For future reference, how can I post a screenshot / picture of my SleepyHead study? I'm used to seeing a "Browse" button, browsing to the photo and selecting it. I don't see that option on this forum.
Thanks again!

Load your image into an image server, like photobucket or Imgur, and copy/paste the link with "img" in it.

You have to put the screen shots on some place like imgur or photobucket and link to it in your post.
I used to use Photobucket but imgur is easier and let's me manipulate the images better...plus it's faster.
I prefer seeing the image in the post and clicking only if I happen to need to enlarge the image.
On imgur I have found that often the "large thumbnail" shows the screen shot well enough I don't have to click on anything.

Re: Finally AHI 2.85 But Still Feel Like a Zombie
that was explained on the third page of the set linked above, please go read them.Stewart194 wrote:Thanks for the reply palerider. I know how to take a screenshot but I'm not sure how to upload it to this post for everyone to see the screenshot photo.
bilevel can be very different, ASV machines are a specific subclass of bi-levels, and they're a whole different world.Stewart194 wrote:.but do you think that the Bi Level Machine or ASV machine is the missing link for me? whether it's what you need or not, I have no way of even guessing. but if you'll read the three webpaes that I linked you, (there's a link at the bottom of each page going to the next) arrange your sleepyhead data as it shows in the first page, screenshot it as shown in the second, upload a pic and post the link here, someone might be able to make less of a wild guess.

OK thanks everyone. MUCH appreciated! I'll wait and see what machine they determine I need and go from there. I'm sure you'll be hearing from me again in the future.
THANKS AGAIN!
