I had my appointment with the PA at the Sleep Clinic yesterday. She scolded me for having 3 days in a row with less than 4 hours and told me not to take off my mask and go back to sleep. I was mumbling and trying to explain that those days I really had less than 4 hours of sleep, not just taking off the mask. Next thing I know, we're walking to the front desk and she's talking about how they will see me in a year.
I was half-way back to my car when I realized what happened. I am compliant!!!!!!
Thank you so much to everyone here for getting me through this challenging period.

Re: Shades of Success
Congrats. And I like the title to your post. Hopefully now you can advance a few shades to even more success in your treatment and in getting more sleep. Is there anything you can identify that's hindering your sleep at this point? Do you feel like you're adjusting at all to wearing the mask and using the machine? Good luck going forward.

Re: Shades of Success
Congrats on getting past the compliance hurdle that you were having.
Now please work on the hurdle of falling asleep in front of the TV and not putting the mask on until 3 AM.
If it is too big of a hurdle....watch the forum for a cheap basic machine that you can put in the living room and leave it there and put it on when watching TV late. Doesn't have to be new or fancy unless you want it to be. An old brick
And for those nights where we simply don't get the needed hours....sometimes we just don't have control of those things (travel, illness, company, etc) and we just have to deal with it.

Re: Shades of Success
I'm doing much better with falling asleep on the couch. Haven't done it in almost 2 weeks.
The mask fit is still a bit of a problem, but I like the N10, so I think I'll go with that. I really like the headgear for the Wisp, but I can't seem to get it to fit without hurting, and if I do get it to not hurt, too many air leaks. However, it's much easier to get to sleep with it on now, so that's a huge improvement.
Baby steps, right?
