SD card quit working
SD card quit working
Recently I took my SD card from my CPAP Resmed9 and inserted it into my computer to read my sleepyhead data from the night before - a daily occurrence for the past year. I could not get the card to read and upon physical examination I found that two of the brass bars on the card back had been interrupted/broken. I put the card back into the CPAP to see if it would work and got a no SD card recognized message on the CPAP screen. I bought a new SDHC card from Walgrens and tried it in the CPAP but got the same no card recognized message. I stopped by and asked my medical equipment provider for guidance and they referred me to Resmed technical support. Resmed tech support said only Resmed SD cards will work in their machines and I should get a Resmed card from the equipment provider. This didn't sound right to me because I have seen posts on this forum about using replacement SD cards and also using wireless flashair cards. What am I missing? Anyone else been through this?

Re: SD card quit working
I just went over to CVS and got a 2GB SD card (not SDHC, just SD). It works fine in my ResMed cpap and has now for at least a year. So don't listen to ResMed on this one, you can order an SD card from Amazon and get it less expensively, or go to Best Buy or Office Max or Staples, or someplace else near you and get one. All that matters is that is an SD card. You most likely can't find the 1GB SD card that your cpap came with anymore, any SD card 1GB or more is fine. Just put it in your cpap first, and it will write the data in its memory onto the new SD card.

Nah, ResMed just wants you to buy their SD cards. I've had a representative say this to me. There's nothing wrong with using another one... in fact I'm pretty sure I've even had ResMed supply me with a generic one because the rep didn't have any ResMed ones on himMikaghan wrote:Recently I took my SD card from my CPAP Resmed9 and inserted it into my computer to read my sleepyhead data from the night before - a daily occurrence for the past year. It sounds like your actual card reader is broken... especially if the brass bars were...

It's not entirely BS. If they "allowed" a standard SD card, they'd be in violation of safety regulations.
The regulations have a "formula" of certain things you do for safety. In this case, it's probably not that dangerous if you don't use a special SD card, but that's the way the rules are written.

Re: SD card quit working
Thank you! I have a regular SD card on order from Amazon and will try it. Hopefully it's not the card reader.
