I am changing from an S9 Autoset to and AirSense 10 Autoset. Other than the appearance difference, any functional differences I should be aware of?
I started CPAP 90 days ago and my DME, American Home Patient did not have AirSense 10s yet. They told me to start with the S9 and when they got AirSense 10s they would swap it at no charge. They have stuck to their word and tomorrow I get my new machine. My main reason for wanting the AirSense 10 was just to have the newest machine. Since I have to keep it five years, I didn't want to start out with a model that had already been replaced.
Other than the smaller footprint, I don't see much functional difference between the two machines.

Re: Change to AirSense S10 from S9
I am cutting and pasting this from an earlier thread with much the same question:
I own and use both the S9 AutoSet and the Airsense AutoSet. I would not say the Airsense is a better machine, I would say they are the same machine wrapped in a different package. There is no difference in the fundamental function of the two machines other than a few minor feature differences, some better, some worse.
The S9 has a better screen for viewing at night, the Airsense screen is far too faint and not user adjustable
The S9 auto Climate control is superior in the fact that you can independently control the hose temp while in Auto mode, this cannot be done with the AirSense (must be in manual to control hose temp)
The Airsense built in cellular modem is a pain in the butt if you don't want to use that function because of the "Nag" screen
The S9 draws far less power than the Airsense so in that respect the S9 is better for camping or other times when using on battery power is necessary
On the advantage side for the Airsense is the overall footprint being smaller in terms of space on bedside table
The hose connection on the Airsense is better when using the ClimateLineAir hose due to the 90 degree swivel feature of the hose
The filter door on the Airsense is better, easier to access and change filter, and the SD card access is a little better being on the side as opposed to the back of the machine for the S9
I'd say the S9s humidifier has an advantage in that it is a separate unit that can be detached when traveling so you have a smaller blower unit for travel, however that advantage goes away somewhat if you purchase the side cover for the Airsense that allows for use of blower without humidifier tub installed
The humidifier tubs hold an identical amount of water (380 ml) on both machines
Bottom line, as stated above, they are basically the same machine in a different housing with some very minor feature differences, but fundamentally they work the same in terms of therapy operation.

The only thing I can think of is the S9 and AS10 use a different ClimateLine heated hose. Other than that, you should be good to go.

Thanks for the info. I don't use the climateline hose and don't need to see the display at night so I should be good to go.

Re: Change to AirSense S10 from S9
After getting my AirSense 10 I will also add
- It seems to be a little quieter than the S9
- The built in modem is 4G LTE where the S9 modem was 2G/3G. The S9 modem didn't work in my house but the AirSense 10 works fine
- With the AirSense i can log into resmed.com/myair and view a dashboard of my data. Not near as detailed as Sleepyhead, but it does tell me hours of use, events per hour and leak data. Nice being able to just log into a website to see this and not have to pull the SD card from the machine.
- Humidifier is a little more difficult to fill as you have to open it up. The S9 just had a fill spot in the top you could add water to.
- AirSense 10 is much smaller and takes up much less space on the nightstand. It really looks like an oversized bedside clock.

If you want the nag screen to go away, you can disconnect the modem:TangledHose wrote: The Airsense built in cellular modem is a pain in the butt if you don't want to use that function because of the "Nag" screen

Poof. No more nag screen.
Re: Change to AirSense S10 from S9
The primary reason why I want the 10 over the s9 is that the Airsense For Her tracks RERAs and that was shown to be my.primary issue in the sleep study. This option is only available on that machine.

Some of us use a wireless sdcard so we can transfer our data from the machine to computer without removing the sdcard from the cpap machine.TeamPCBeach wrote: - With the AirSense i can log into resmed.com/myair and view a dashboard of my data.
