EMERGENCY! In Bremerton, WA & I need a power brick for an S-

Post by islandboy5150 » Tue May 26, 2015 3:15 pm

I'm on travel here in Bremerton from Temecula CA, (Navy Contractor) and I went to unpack and set up my S-9 Auto only to find I left my power pack and cords at home. Please, if anyone is in the Puget Sound area and would be kind enough to loan or allow me to buy or rent a power pack with the power cord, I would be eternally greatful. I have a second matching just for travel and it never comes out of the closet until it's time to travel, and what I thought was the brick in the case was a brick for something else entirely and won't work. Please please does anybody have a power brick for an S-9 that I can borrow until my wife ships one to me from home? Probably only a couple of days.....PLEASE? And, if you would be so kind to "bump" this for me I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!!!

I sent a PM. I have one I can loan you if you can meet in Tacoma. I'm in Seatac, so Bremerton is over an hour drive each way. I am off work today, so I could meet this afternoon or evening.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Thank you so very much zoo crew!!! You are a life saver, truly. Internet hugs for you! Thanks for welcoming me back, chunky frog. I've been away far too long. Just all kinds of things piling up and demands that just seem to drain the life out of me, so I haven't been on much in a long time. I poke around, read some threads but haven't taken the time to interact any in a long time. And lastly, but not leastly, thanks to this forum and everyone here that helps so much. This is real proof. I honestly think I would have a heart attack or a stroke if I had to go a week without CPAP. It's a very scary prospect to have all your equipment set up in a hotel far away from home, your machine, hose, mask, everything set to use it just to realize you can't turn it on and the part you need is a thousand miles away. My heart was in my throat. I have real bad blood pressure and diabetes even with CPAP. 180/100 is what it normally reads using CPAP. Imagine without it? Thanks zoo crew, you really helped me tremendously, out of a bad situation.

Two years ago a woman who'd been on the forum about six months posted a message that her cpap machine was being confiscated due to losing her Medicaid coverage and she couldn't afford to buy a machine. She was afraid to go to sleep. The very next day she received a machine donated by one of our regular forum members -- he and his wife drove to this woman's home to give her a spare machine.

These kinds of things are why, despite the crazy crap that sometimes goes on here, I stay on this forum.

Way to go zoocrew.

I was lucky to have a great start with a great sleep study and tech who fitted me with the perfect mask on the first try. That gave me an awesome night of sleep and a taste of what I could achieve. But it was this group that helped me get there. Figuring out how to fit the mask, learning that there was a smaller headgear size available, being able to see my own data (which gave me the ability to see what my treatment was doing). Without the education I got here and the ability to use software, I would not have been able to help my mom get a new machine and better settings. And this past Christmas, my brother finally accepted help with his cpap machine. I still have inconsistent nights with my usage as I have a tendency to take the mask off in my sleep. I have not completely mastered that. But reading here every day keeps me focused. If I have a bad night, I just try again the next day.

Today had some luck. It is my day off. Any other day this week, and I would not have been able to travel to meet him. I read the post and thought, how many people happen to have a spare power brick? How many of those are closer to Bremerton than me? Probably not many, if any. I travel for cat shows, averaging a weekend a month in a hotel or RV. Before cpap, I dreaded hotel nights. Far worse than home, I would be awake part of every hour. Sometimes, most of every hour. It was horrible. I'm already a severe night owl. Stay up most of the night and get up early. It was beat after every weekend. Now, with cpap, I might wake up once. Usually, I sleep through until the alarm. I actually sleep better in hotels now than I do at home. So, the thought of being out of town for work without a machine is something I would dread.

I now have another great reason to have a backup machine. I can loan out a power brick if needed

Zoocrew, I imagine getting better sleep (and more of it) also put you more in synch with your fur babies.
Cats are sooo good at sleeping!

What a generous group this is. About two months ago my Bipap crashed and the DMe was moving deadslow. A forum member lent me a bi-pap until my new one arrived. I then was given a CPap by a friend what will be passed onto a needy member by my Benefactor along with some almost new masks I gave her.Olivia

It was a pleasure to meet zoocrew, a genuinely nice person. Now, I need to get on the forum more often so I can pay it forward. Maybe a chance for me to help someone will come up.
