Mouthpiece for Sleep Apnea

Does anyone use the mouthpiece instead of the CPAP machine. I was not able to use the CPAP machine, so I had a specialist make a custom mouthpiece. I have mild sleep apnea. The biggest problem is I snore due to a small airway, and have low oxygen at night. I have been using the mouthpiece for 2 weeks and am more exhausted than I ever was prior to all this started.

Mouthpieces do not help everyone.
They also do not come with a guarantee.
Cpap is more effective for most of us, but it is not always easy.

You still don't know if the mouthpiece is helping the low oxygen levels. You need to use an overnight PulsOx to monitor your O2 while you sleep.
If your O2 levels are still low with the mouthpiece, you may have wasted lots of $$$$.

The dentist that made my mouthpiece specializes in sleep apnea. He did several tests prior to making the mouthpiece. It was quite involved. My insurance did cover it, so I am not out any money. He is also going to monitor my O2. He wanted to give me one month trial before giving me the pulse ox. Their are different strength bands you add to the mouthpiece everyweek so your jaw adjusts to the position gradually. There is also another apparatus that I use, after taking the mouthpiece out, that was custom made. I excercise my jaw back to its original position for five minutes. I know they do not come with a guarantee. Nothing in life comes with a guarantee. I had the CPAP for two months. Maybe not enough time, but it was filling my stomach up with so much air, that I was in pain. They tried regulating it several times, and I tried different masks, etc. It was not working, so I was willing to try the mouthpiece.
