Are you having wildly vivd dreams using CPAP?

The past couple of nights I have been having very vivid dreams in which I know I am dreaming...so I can control the dreams. Most of the time I am flying a fighter jet like Tom Cruise in Top Gun...or sometimes a space ship like in Battle STar Gallactica or Star Wars. And my co-pilot is a sexy bikini model. Probably has something to do with the mask.

If Tom Cruise is in your dreams I would classify it more as a Night Mare !!!

I went through a phase of dreams when I started getting better sleep ... that phase will pass ....enjoy it while you can

I am guessing that soon after that, it becomes a 'Vivid Entertainment' production.

Yes, I had vivid crazy nightmares for the 1st month.

After 9+ years, I still have vivid dreams. Many of them involve me walking long distances like to the point of beng ridiculous... I sometimes get more vivid dreams when I take melatonin that night which I use occasionally.

Strange...I have taken Melatonin for about 2+ years...every night...and I rarely dream. (At least I don't remember dreaming...maybe CPAP affects memory too).

Sometimes when you use something all the time, its effects can fade as you system gets used to it. At best, I use it around 2 times a week.

or, maybe you're just sleeping soundly. the prevailing thought is that dreams fade from memory shortly after ending, *unless you're roused from sleep*. sso if you don't wake during, or right after the dream, you won't remember it.

Yes, unfortunately -- and sometimes they can get pretty bad. Whether it is the apnea or the CPAP or the medications I take, sometimes they can be debilitating. Wake up very early, at about 4 or 5 a.m. sweating, heart pounding, and RR high. Not a good situation.

I would discuss it with your doctor. For some reason I wonder if these vivid dreams coincide with severe apneas or low blood oxygen levels or something.

that sounds like badly treated apnea.
