I Just Got My Auto CPAP Machine!!

Post by La Zona » Wed May 20, 2015 8:30 pm

Last night was my first night with my new auto CPAP machine. It's the Fisher Icon Auto Plus. Today I was LOVING LIFE, so awake and alert

I did my sleep study using the Philips Resperonics System One. If I had my choice, I would have picked the Philips machine just because I was used to it from the sleep study. But the Fisher is good too, and was cheaper.

Yes I am using Sleepyhead software and it works with my Icon Auto.

Only thing I regret is not getting a CPAP sooner in life. I think I might have wasted over a decade suffering from sleep apnea.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Well, congratulations and welcome to the Brotherhood of HoseHeads! It sounds like you're off to a great start. I wish more people saw such an immediate benefit - I'll bet that then the compliance would be a lot higher than, what is it, 50 percent?

I'm another lucky one and took to it immediately. Was your diagnosis of severe apnea? It seems to be that the more severe the apnea, the more likely people are to be successful with cpap therapy.

I just ordered this machine, I can't wait to use it. My current machine is making a whistling noise and I can't wait to get rid of it. This is the 2nd time I've had to replace my PR One, so I'm done with Philips.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Yea I was diagnosed with severe apnea. I think my initial AHI was over 60. But now with my CPAP machine it is down to 2.83

I think you will like it

However, IMO, the controls need some time to get used to it. It is just a dial with a button in the middle. The selections on the screen are just icons, not words. So sometimes it is hard to decipher what the screen is indicating.
