Had to google it too. Looks newer than my first one. I think this is what I had http://www.medwow.com/med/cpap/fisher-p ... model-spec
Nothing but an on off switch on the side of it and a little button to turn for heating the water. It did it's job though! Pretty sure that was my first machine.

I kinda did this for fun... thinking about my old (but not much used at all) 'Tank' on the shelf... whatever happens in future, I'll probably get 5 good yrs out of it (got it new - didn't use it long). It does the job, and if you use Encore, will give lots of info! I think it's great and as long as there's an elect. outlet, I'll have an Apap.

For those who don't want to bother with a Google search on "Respironics REMstar Legacy models", here are links to many of them at CPAP.COM. There was also another model called the "OmniLab" (similar appearance) which was a multi-mode machine used in sleep labs for quite a few years and only recently replaced by the "OmniLab" built around the System One machine. However, I think many sleep labs are still using the previous model.

The lineup of the "Legacy" model machines:

My oldest backup is a pillow made by my grandmother. Keeps you upright when all else fails. Said to work for breathing problems in the very old days.

I couldn't figure out why your original post got "deleted", but am resurrecting it for posterity (with some personal modifiers).

In my case, I could have used some more options.....

Glad to hear you still have yours, Julie. When we started on this forum, that was one of the "top-of-the-line", machines to have. The other one was probably the PB 420E Auto, which had some unique features for certain applications.

The 1st post I deleted because it didn't get set up properly as a poll... technically terrific I'm not.

I believe I was, if not the last, almost the last one to get the Tank from Cpap.com (before Resmed out-of-country regs came in) before the M series machines were sold... it was all very exciting at the time.

Ahhhhhhh. I couldn't remember when that occurred, but I was well aware of it.

I don't know if I should tell this story about CPAP.COM, but in the Fall of 2007, they were selling out the last of the Legacy models.....Pro 2s and Autos. However, when I inquired, they were out of the Pro 2s and were substituting the Autos for the same price. I purchased two and sent one to my son who was using CPAP at that time and had been given a data-less (Plus) machine by the money-grubbing DMEs he was forced to deal with. He later had gastric bypass surgery and claims to have been cured of his OSA. I do hope he kept the machines he had.

I have a prehistoric Sunrise Cpap LT 8001. I believe it's
about 15 years old and it looks it ! No leds no readouts
just a proprietary serial port a micro switch and a screw.
I think the screw was to set the pressure. Just think this
blast from the past could be yours for $29.95 + postage !

Seriously I have 2 bricks as backups.

I have two Legacy machines which I got basically for free. One of them is my primary hose & mask drying system and and it also works well for dialing in mask fit problems without racking up time on the good machine. The other legacy is the backup for the same purpose. They have other uses also of which to enumerate I would need to click the "get a life" button.

In a drawer under the bed I still have my 1st cpap...POLARIS...acquired in 1999. Not even used as a backup. I used to use it to dry out my hose if rainout.... "but I don't have a rainout problem anymore. Now it's just a dust collecter and an 'age' reminder.

Yes, I have an old Respironics BiPAP Plus with heated humidifier that I stored away when I got my IntelliPap BiLevel a couple of years ago. The old Respironics has over 15,000 hours breathing time, but still works fine-it has no data other than run-time hours although it does have ramp, BiFlex, etc.

A couple of months ago I had to have my local DME send my Intellipap back to the factory for repair under warranty for some sort of malfunction in the data output package, and I was surely glad that I didn't have to go without treatment for the ten days or so it was gone.. My DME had offered to rent me a loaner of some kind while the repairs were made, but I just thanked them and got out my retired machine and put it by the bed.
