Re: More Tired Now than when I started CPAP a Year Ago.
Have your hose & mask been changed lately? What are your pressure settings? I understand how you feel. I have gone back to my docotr's office complaining of this same thing. I ended up with a sleep study & day sleep study. See if I have a secondary sleep disorder. I am hoping to see if this helps. I...

Re: Therapy-Effectiveness Drop after switching masks
I went back to my DME -and the guy that "helped" me last time with a mask I had a hose to the mask that had holes at the bottom and near the mask.
I think some of the DME folks have no idea what they are doing, just trying to sell a mask.

Re: Therapy-Effectiveness Drop after switching masks
I think you are right, Palerider. That doesn't make sense to have a data capable machine and antenna and not be on a non-data machine. Darkshader, after seeing your post, I am going to be taking my machine in to see if it is malfunctioning and needs repairs. This has been a lousy sleep type of week ...

Re: Therapy-Effectiveness Drop after switching masks
I want to let you know that I get it. I haven't changed masks in months, yet I am noticing those same symptoms while using my System One machine. I have called for a doctor 's appointment due to the lack of effective therapy - I have no leaks in my hose either. The earliset one is mid-June. I do hop...

Re: Dealing with work and sleep apnea
I am at an IT job, and yes does seem to affect my getting to work on time aka tardiness at this job. Between that or the fatigue that stays with me unless I am guzzling down my mio enegy water enhancer, and even then my body doesn't like caffeine all that much and then the crash and burn feeling fro...

Dealing with work and sleep apnea
How did you handle letting your employer know that you have sleep apnea, and what kind of accommodations did you need to be able to balance those days of work when you are fatigued, etc?

Re: How long did it take before you first got diagnosed.
I have had an old roommate diagnosed with sleep apnea, then my ex husband as well. I knew of the symptoms, but my snoring isn't bad, just the daytime drowsiness and falling asleep at a meeting at work made me go to the doctor to see what was going on. A home sleep study or 2 later, and I have a mild...

Struggling to get back to using my machine
I ended up with bronchitis over the months of January and February. I ended up not using the cpap machine as I was recovering from it. Now I do want to break the bad habit of not using it now that I am struggling with using it again. I do feel like a newbie again and getting back into better habits....

Re: Opinions on partial night therapy
When I started therapy last summer, I ended up pulling off the mask half way through the night. It takes time to get used to the noise, the mask pulling and twisting as you sleep, and multiple other sources of irritation last lasted the first couple months. I fear that if someone had told me in thos...

Re: Struggling with CPAP & zombie
After going back to the DME, I changed mask styles Nuance Nasal Pillow Mask . That's helped so much with the leaks, the aerophagia, and after figuring out that I was feeling more anxious as well. Last night I kept it on for about 6 hours before starting to have a coughing fit. Kept it on last night ...

Re: Struggling with CPAP & zombie
What settings are you using on the humidifier? With or without the heated hose? Dry mouth is from mouth breathing in most cases...sometimes adding more moisture with the humidifier will help...sometimes it doesn't help even with settings maxed out. Congestion....again what settings are you using on...
