Re: Settings for an APAP device to get lower AHI
My advice is to get and install the wonderful SleeyHead software and start loading in your data every day and start analyzing it. What makes this process complicated is that we sleep differently every night so there is no "perfect setting" that will give us the best results. That is why auto cpaps h...

Interesting story about UARS and apnea in young, thin people
This story was linked in the Apnea News section of cpap.com It's a well written article and worth reading: http://www.elle.com/beauty/health-fitness/a44363/an-awaking-nightmare/ It's the fascinating story of how a young, thin woman who had lots of problems sleeping and tried everything to fix it wit...

Re: Water Chamber OK in Hurricane Dryer?
You are doing a lot of unnecessary cleaning and causing unneeded wear and tear on your equipment. You will find that most experienced users wash things only as necessary. Many of us NEVER wash the hose - it simply isn't needed. All that passes through the hose is filtered, clean air and water vapor....

Re: new to this and have questions about sleepyhead
Some graphics chips don't work with sleepyhead so there are two sleepyhead executables included when you installed it. Go to the folder where sleepyhead is installed and try running the program that has something like broken-gl in the name. That one will often work when there are problems with the h...

When you pull the SD card out of the machine and hold it so that the writing on the label is right side up, the locking tab is on the left side toward the top. There is a little picture next to it with an open lock at the top to indicate unlocked and a closed lock at the bottom to indicate locked. S...

Hi all, We are still waiting for feedback from the Philips dealer in the Middle East on if he can exchange the CPAP to the upgraded Auto version. Since it's been two weeks I am s bit nervous and I am considering to contact the HQ in the US directly. Does anyone of you by any chance have their conta...

Go to Walmart and buy this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Nexcare-Gentle-Paper-First-Aid-Tape-781-2PK-1-in-x-10-yds-2-rolls/19898482 for $3.27 for two rolls. Re: Side Sleeper needs mask help
Nice post, Bonjour - you saved me the trouble! LOL Look at the masks for the type you want to try on our sponsor's site - for example, here are the full face masks: https://www.cpap.com/cpap-masks/full-face-cpap-mask.php . They are listed in order of popularity by default, so the most popular masks ...

So this is how they circumvent the rules against selling cpap machines, huh? I'm sure that if the listing doesn't get pulled, as they usually are, the price will go up quite a bit.

Re: Sleep study results
I know what you are going through when you try to sleep. My measured AHI was 80. You are not getting any restful sleep as you are having 80 events on average every hour. Many of us can also identify with your frustration at how long the process takes. I do not understand why they did not try higher ...

Sure sounds to me like clogged exhaust vent holes. It happened to me just this week. Soaked it in water and a little Dawn dish washing soap and then used my can of compressed air to blow the vent holes clean. It's working just like new again. You should be able to feel a reasonable amount of air com...

Re: Sleep study results
The heart rate isn't a big deal and, as you found, is within normal range. The diagnosis of severe apnea IS a big deal. And the fact that you had a split study means that they positively determined that you had sleep apena in the first part of the night. It is unfortunate that they were not able to ...

Re: Need help for pressure setting of resmed s9 autoset
A setting of 12-17 or 12-20 is probably where you need to end up. If you are new to cpap, it may take you some time to get used to the machine before you feel comfortable at that pressure. Maybe not though. For me, a pressure of 13 worked right off the bat. Try using the machine while you are watchi...

If you want to try a hose hanger, I use this one and it's only $11 from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/North-American-H ... 0034CHMRU/ There are heavier and fancier ones for more money and some people even make their own, or use a shelf, bedpost, etc.
