recently...like the past two weeks.... when wearing my mask...(ultra mirage II nasal, attached to resmed h5i) ...after I inhale and exhale...the machine then does like *3* puffs of air into my body...whether I need it or not. they are fast. the pressure of the 3 blasts of air depends on how big an inhalation I do.
i cant sleep like this. i dont want the thing to breathe for me. i want it to give me air when I STOP breathing!
something is jacked up here(CPAP issue) please help!

I assume you're an experienced user and you know for sure something is different (vs. being new to CPAP and not used to the machine yet).
It will help if you identify which S9 machine you have -- the model name should be right by the Start/Stop button -- Escape, Elite, Escape Auto, Autoset.... And tell us how long you have been using this machine (so we have some idea how many hours of use it has on it).

escape. i just dont remember the thing breathing for me like this. and it is rythmic. like a metronome. i exhale then.. BREATH BREATH BREATH whether i need one or not.

Your description of the puffs or pulses made me wonder if there was a malfunction of the FOT, but your machine (Escape) does not have this technology.
How old is your machine? How many hours on it?
Do you use the machine's EPR feature? It's the exhalation relief feature -- lowers the pressure by 1, 2 or 3 cms pressure on exhale. I wonder if something is going wrong with the operation of that feature.

hey, it has 3075 hours, and the EPR was off. i turned it on to 3. and also turned the ramp duration up to 20 mins.

EPR was off, and you turned it to 3 - did that make any difference?
