Re: New BIPAP, bad AHI (only 3 days of use)
what is the new machine? If it is a PR machine, then even with the BiPAP you still have a ramp mode - it is the button next to the wheel with a triangle next to it.

WOW - I had no idea that they did this. http://www.dot.gov/office-policy/aviation-policy/aircraft-disinsection-requirements "Disinsection is permitted under international law" - interesting that this is the United States Department of Transportation site and they say nothing about flights in the US....

Re: OK, Sleepyhead Results!
Hello houndlover If I am speaking what you already know, I apologize in advance... With a pretreatment AHI of 82 you really should try to keep the mask on all night. Remember that this number is saying that you basically stop breathing 82 times an hour! If you can get a copy of your sleep study, tak...

Re: Oximeter .... how do I use this information?
I transfer the data into excel and graph my readings based on median values for both pulse rate (BPM) and SpO2 (% saturation). I also import the data into sleepyhead. Here I compare the desaturation events to any breathing events looking for not only a drop is SpO2 but an increase in pulse rate. If ...

Re: machine on planes
you want to check with your airline, not all seats have power... and some have tight restrictions on battery size as other posts have discussed. In business class I have no trouble using my machine. Int he back of the plan typically I can not use it.

Re: Cannot find DME that cares about customer!
My DME is good so far. They have online ordering of supplies, or I can use the automated phone system, or call during office hours and talk to someone to order with or even email. So far: - they have not pushed to order supplies - they call once a month to ask how everything is going, if I have any ...

there is a short film on their icode software - looks pretty basic with no waveform data - or am I missing it? Nice price point, but it does look like a brick to me so far.

Re: Why is BiPap prescribed instead of regular CPAP?
I started with BiPAP. Reason is that during the sleep study they stated with standard CPAP low pressure, increased the pressure 4 or 5 times, then went to BiPAP with differential pressures. The first pressure they used my numbers were low and I "looked" more comfortable sleeping according to the tec...

Re: New To CPAP
I also started with the swift fx mask and then switched to the swift fx nano. For me the fx was too much gear on my face and the mask was too big. I thought of switching to nasal pillows, in fact I tried some for about 4 days. I could not stand that the pressure was only on the inside of my noise. W...
